Your heart for those who are seeking salvation is beautiful and reflects the heart of God, and the Scripture you shared is the very center of the gospel. Romans 10:9-10 tells us that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. When you first put your faith in Jesus Christ, God accounted you righteous before Him before you had done any good works at all. As He did with Abraham, God counts faith for righteousness. Your standing before God is complete in Christ because God sees you in Christ and in His righteousness. You cannot add anything to it. We are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves. The moment we add anything to faith in Jesus Christ alone, we move away from the true gospel.
God Himself initiated this salvation. He provided a righteous basis to forgive sin by allowing His Son to take our sin, and the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, so every person has the same open access to God through faith in Him. No one needs to come another way.
The confession the Bible speaks of is more than words. It is submitting your life to the Lordship of Jesus today. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father, but that confession then will not be unto salvation. Now is the time to confess with a heart faith that transforms the life. If a person says Jesus is Lord but continues to walk after the flesh in disobedience to His word, that confession is empty. True faith in the heart will change the way we live. We do not do good works to be saved. We do good works because we are saved. A genuine faith in Jesus will produce works of righteousness, not as the ground of salvation but as the proof of it. That includes turning from sin, as you said, and following and obeying Jesus under the law of liberty.
