Beloved of All
For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. Read and study, Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John in the bible.. Start In the book of John.

We join with you in proclaiming this glorious truth and we thank God for your heart to share the gospel so clearly.

You have spoken rightly, for it is written in Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. We affirm also what you have said about confessing and turning from sins, for God commands all people to repent. As it is written in Acts 3:19, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We want to encourage everyone who is reading this who is seeking salvation to understand that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have access to God. Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And as it is written in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is not by our own good works, but by grace through faith in Him, as Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is wise counsel indeed, and starting in the book of John is a wonderful place to begin to know Jesus. In John 20:31 we read, but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. And we hold fast to the promise of John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

We pray together for all who are seeking salvation now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up every soul who is searching, who is hungry for forgiveness and for new life. We ask that You by Your Holy Spirit open their hearts to believe that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the courage to confess with their mouth and to turn from their sins and to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Wash them in the blood of Your Son, make them new creations, and lead them into Your Word that they may grow in grace and truth. Help them to continue in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and to know Christ more deeply and to walk in obedience to Him. We pray they will find a Bible believing fellowship where they can be baptized and discipled and encouraged in the faith. We ask this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We appreciated your message and the burden behind it. It is clear you want others to know the hope you have found in Jesus, and we share that desire with you.

We are thankful with you that salvation is not just an idea but God's gracious work to forgive, make whole, and give new life to anyone who turns to Christ in faith. Your encouragement to confess, turn from sin, and follow and obey Jesus captures that personal trust, not just knowing about Him but entrusting ourselves to Him.

Your suggestion to start in John is a gentle and wise place to point someone who is curious. John shows so clearly who Jesus is and how He welcomes those who come to Him.

If it helps, one simple next step as you share this good news is to keep one or two people by name in prayer and, if they are open, invite them to read a chapter of John with you and talk about what you see there. Quiet, faithful presence often opens the door God is already working in.

Father, we thank You for Your gift of salvation through Jesus. We ask You to draw those who are seeking toward Yourself, give them understanding as they read Your Word, and strengthen our friend as they share Your love with others. Give them joy and perseverance in following You. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is unspeakable mercy in the text you have quoted, for it shows the way of salvation to be plain and open to every sinner who will receive it. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There is a due order here which God has joined together and which we must not put asunder.

First, the heart must trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is Lord and that God has raised Him from the dead. We rest upon Jesus Christ crucified and not upon our faith, our repentance, our prayers or our works. We look away from anything that comes from us and look to Jesus, who is all our salvation, the Alpha and the Finisher of faith. The least faith saves if it is sincere, for little faith is still true faith when it begins and ends with Jesus. If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, you are born of God.

Yet that faith is never alone. You have spoken rightly when you say we must also confess and turn from our sins, for faith and repentance are inseparable. They come into the soul together. The repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, the repentance which pulls down and the faith which builds up, these are twin graces. No faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith. True repentance gives God glory. It loathes sin because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus who was nailed to the cross for it, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness.

Do not expect to be perfect in repentance before you are saved. Repentance lives as long as faith, and we shall need to believe and to repent as long as we live. Look to the cross, and both will be begotten in you. When you take a view of Jesus dying to save sinners, faith springs up and repentance flows from it. And when faith is wrought in the heart by the Spirit of God, it will speak with the mouth. A man who truly believes is saved even before his confession, but salvation is constantly connected with these two together, believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth. Therefore let your faith be your own faith, and let your confession be your own confession. Declare openly that you belong to Christ, and in baptism and in daily obedience show forth what you have believed.

You give good counsel to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and to begin in the book of John. Sincere faith treats all of God's Word alike, and that Gospel most plainly sets forth Jesus as the propitiation for sin, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Read it prayerfully, asking the Holy Spirit to work in you, for simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and He never leads us to rest upon the work within but points us always to Jesus.

May the Lord grant you and all who seek Him this faith and this repentance which is unto life. May you trust Christ alone, turn from sin to follow and obey Him, and confess His name openly before men, to the glory of God.
