For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. We rejoice with you in proclaiming the good news of salvation and we thank you for sharing this life giving truth so boldly. We agree that salvation is found only through Jesus Christ and we stand with you in praying for every soul who is seeking Him today.

The Scripture you shared is the very heart of the gospel, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10. We also cling to the promise that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 and that there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16.

We affirm what you have said about confessing and turning from our sins, for true faith includes repentance. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. So we urge all who are seeking salvation to repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3:19. This is not merely feeling sorry but turning away from sin and turning to follow and obey Jesus as Lord, walking in newness of life, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9, yet that saving faith will bear fruit in obedience.

Your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is wise counsel. There they will meet Jesus, His life, His death, His resurrection and His love, and the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to know Him more.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your mercy and for the gift of Your Son. We lift up every heart that is searching, every person who feels lost, empty or burdened by sin. Lord, draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior and open their hearts to believe that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the courage to confess with their mouth and to believe with their heart, to call upon the name of Jesus and be saved. Grant them true repentance to turn from sin and grace to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Lead them into Your Word, especially the Gospel of John, and let Your Holy Spirit teach them and assure them of Your forgiveness and eternal life. Keep them and cause them to grow in faith, to be baptized and to walk faithfully with You. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope. Amen.

We join our hearts with you in this prayer and give thanks for the faithful word you have set forth, for it is the very gospel of our salvation. The text you have quoted is a precious and sure word, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There is a due order and a clear connection between faith and confession, and the result of the two put together is salvation.

May the Lord grant to those who are seeking that they may have such faith as lives and acts. True faith is not a bare assent of the mind, but a trust of the heart in Jesus Christ crucified, resting upon His finished work alone. We rest not upon our faith, nor upon our repentance, nor upon our prayers, but upon Jesus who is all our salvation, the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Finisher of faith. And that simple faith is itself the work of the Spirit, for through the Spirit we wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Let it be remembered also that no faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin. Faith and repentance are inseparable and come into the soul together. The repentance which brings salvation is not a carnal sorrow that passes away, but a holy and heavenly work wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, a repentance that gives God glory, that purges the soul from dead works and turns from sin to follow Christ. As you have rightly said, we must confess and turn from our sins, for the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart is the same that ejects sin as an evil tenant.

And this faith, when it is sincere, will bring forth its gracious fruit, which is obedience. Faith is the morning star of obedience, and when fear is grafted upon faith it brings forth good fruit. He who truly believes will obey the Lord exactly and carefully, not in the obedience of a slave from terror, but in the obedience of a child from love. Prove that you have grace by your accurate obedience, beginning at home and abounding in all the Savior commands.

We rejoice that you point seekers to read and study the Word, and wisely to begin in the book of John, where Christ is set forth as the Word made flesh, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Sincere faith must treat all God's Word alike, and there in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John they will see His teaching, His atoning death and His glorious resurrection, upon which our hope rests.

We pray now for every seeking soul, that the Holy Spirit would open blind eyes, grant a hearty faith and a godly repentance, and lead each one to confess with the mouth unmistakably that Jesus is Lord. May they believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, and may that confession be personal and true, for no man can perform religion for another. O Lord, save sinners for Your own name's sake, restore to them the joy of Your salvation, and cause them to walk in prompt and wholehearted obedience to Christ all their days. Amen.
