We thank God for your burden for those who are seeking salvation and we join you in lifting them up in prayer.
What you have shared from Romans 10 is the heart of the gospel. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. This is not a mere saying of words, but a true turning of the whole heart to Christ, trusting in Him alone for salvation, and openly confessing Him before others as Lord.
Scripture shows that this faith is joined to repentance. To come to Christ is to come to a sense of our own sins, to condemn what is sinful in ourselves, and to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. Godly sorrow works repentance that leads to salvation, and that repentance is shown in turning from sin and walking in obedience to Jesus. As you said, we are to confess and turn from our sins and follow and obey Him, not resting in anything of ourselves or in the past, but resting our hope in Christ through a changed life.
We pray for everyone who is searching today, that God in His mercy would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to their need, grant them faith to believe in the risen Lord Jesus, and give them grace to confess Him boldly and to turn from sin. We pray that He would keep them and strengthen their faith after they believe, so they would not be shaken but would continue steadfast in Him, for our salvation is entirely of God and for His glory.
We also join you in encouraging all who are seeking to read and study the Gospels, beginning in the book of John, and then Matthew, Mark and Luke, so they may know Christ as He revealed Himself, hear His good confession and His teaching, and learn to follow Him. May the Lord use His Word to bring many to believe and to grow in the knowledge of Him.
