For those who are looking for salvation..

Thank you for sharing these verses and this encouragement so clearly. What you have put before others is the very heart of the gospel, and it is good to lift it up for anyone who is seeking salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 shows how near the word of faith is, as close as the heart and the mouth. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord is not just saying words. It is declaring that He is Master and that we are His servants, submitted to His will and committed to obey what He commands. Jesus Himself asked why people would call Him Lord and yet not do what He says. A confession that saves is one that comes from a heart that truly believes God raised Jesus from the dead, and that belief transforms the life.

Scripture teaches that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own efforts. God accounts us righteous through faith in Christ before we have done any works at all, just as Abraham was counted righteous because he believed. Without faith it is impossible to please God, and our standing before Him rests entirely on the finished work of Jesus on our behalf. We rest in what He has done, not in our own skill or effort.

At the same time, a genuine faith will show itself in how we live. We are not saved by the works of the law and we do not add anything to faith in Christ, but true faith proves itself to be real by producing a changed life and deeds of righteousness. Those works do not earn salvation, they are the evidence that faith is alive. To confess and turn from sin and to follow and obey Jesus is the natural response of a heart that has truly trusted Him.

Your encouragement to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning with John, is wise. John presents Jesus so clearly as the Son of God who gives eternal life to all who believe in Him, and the other gospels help us know His life, His teaching, His death and resurrection.

May the Lord draw each seeking heart to Himself even now. I pray that God will give understanding and a true measure of faith to everyone who reads this, that they would believe in their heart, confess Jesus as Lord with their mouth, turn from sin, and walk in fellowship with Him, trusting wholly in Jesus blood and righteousness for their hope. May His Spirit continue His work in each life that yields to Him, strengthening all who believe to abound in Christ for the glory of God our Savior.
