Beloved of All
For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. Read and study, Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John in the bible.. Start In the book of John.

We rejoice with you in sharing this good news of salvation and we thank God for your heart to point others to Jesus Christ. What you have shared is the very heart of the gospel and we agree wholeheartedly that salvation comes only through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead.

The scripture you quoted is so powerful and true, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10. We also remember for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 and that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.

We love your encouragement to confess and turn from sins, for God calls us to repentance. We are told repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3:19 and if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. True faith is not just words but a changed heart that desires to follow and obey Jesus, for Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15. And we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9, yet that grace leads to a new life, therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Your advice to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is excellent counsel. In John we so clearly see who Jesus is, that He is the Word made flesh and the only way to the Father, as Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6, and for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16.

We join together in prayer for all who are looking for salvation and reading these words now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your love and mercy and for the gift of salvation through Your Son. We pray for every person who is seeking You today, that You would open their eyes to see their need for a Savior and open their hearts to believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose again. Lord, give them the courage to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to turn from their sins and to follow You with all their heart. Forgive them, cleanse them, make them new creations in Christ and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Lead them as they begin to read Your Word, especially in the Gospel of John, and give them understanding, hunger for truth, and a desire to obey. Connect them to a faithful Bible believing fellowship where they can grow and be discipled. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope, amen.

We encourage anyone seeking salvation to pray sincerely to God, confessing your sins, believing in Jesus Christ with your whole heart, and committing to follow and obey Him daily. Continue in the Word, pray continually, and seek fellowship with other believers who will help you walk faithfully with Him.

Thank you for sharing this burden so plainly and for wanting others to know how to come to Jesus. We hear your love for people who are still searching and your desire to point them clearly to Him.

We join you in thanking God that salvation is His gift to us, not something we earn by trying harder. It brings forgiveness and a new life with Him that grows day by day as we walk with Christ. Starting in John as you suggested is a wonderful place to meet Jesus, hear His words and see His heart for us.

For anyone reading this who is taking a step toward Jesus today, it helps not to walk alone. If you can, find a Bible believing church near you and let a pastor know where you are in your journey, or ask a trusted Christian friend to read through John with you and pray with you. Continuing to talk honestly with the Lord in prayer and staying in His Word are simple ways to keep growing.

Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for the hope we have in Jesus. We pray for each person who is searching right now, that You would draw them to Yourself, give them clarity and peace as they seek You, and surround them with people who can encourage them. We pray for the one who wrote this too, that You would strengthen and encourage them as they share Your love with others. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and faithful word you have set before us, and we join you in prayer for every soul that is seeking salvation. The Scripture you have quoted is the very heart of the gospel, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

There is a due order here which we must keep. Faith is first, confession following. With the heart we privately and personally rest upon Christ crucified, upon his finished work and not upon our own faith or prayers or strivings, and then with the mouth we publicly and emphatically avow what God has wrought within us. That confession is personal. No man can believe for another, and no man can repent for another. Each soul must say for himself, I am the Lord's, and subscribe with his own hand and heart unto Christ.

And that faith which saves is never alone. The repentance we ought to preach is one connected with faith, and they come into the soul together. There is no genuine faith which is perfectly consistent with continuance in sin, and no true repentance but that which is linked with a hearty trust in Christ. It is not a carnal repentance wrought by fear alone, but a holy repentance wrought by the Spirit of God, which gives glory to God, which grieves for sin itself and looks with hope to the love of Christ. Such repentance lives as long as faith lives, for we shall need to believe and to repent as long as we live.

Then obedience becomes the gracious fruit. Faith is the morning star of obedience. When faith and holy fear are wrought in the heart, they lead to obedience, not the obedience of a slave from terror, but the obedience of a child from love. He who is truly saved will desire to follow and obey Jesus, to do according to all that the Lord commands, not turning to the right hand or to the left. We do not look to that obedience to complete our salvation, for we rest upon Jesus alone who is the Author and Finisher of faith, but we prove the grace we have received by our desire to keep his word, and the Holy Spirit who works faith in us will also work in us the will to obey.

We pray now for all who are looking for salvation, that the Lord would open their eyes to see Christ as he is revealed in the gospels. Your counsel is wise to bid them read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and to begin in the book of John, where Christ is set forth as the Word made flesh, the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. May the Spirit of God take that Word and make it effectual, that with the heart they may believe and with the mouth they may confess, turning from sin and trusting wholly in the Saviour.

O Lord, grant unto seekers a simple faith in Jesus Christ as the ground of salvation, and grant them grace to confess him openly before men. Work in them that repentance which needeth not to be repented of, and lead them in the path of childlike obedience all their days, for Jesus sake. Amen.
