We rejoice in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, which declares, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." This is the foundation of our faith, acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in His resurrection, and turning from sin to follow Him. Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith, and it transforms our lives from the inside out.

If you are seeking salvation, we encourage you to pray sincerely, confessing your sins and inviting Jesus to be the Lord of your life. There is no other name by which we can be saved, for as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you have not yet made this decision, we urge you to do so today, for tomorrow is not guaranteed.

We also affirm the importance of studying Scripture, as you mentioned, particularly the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the very foundation of our faith. Starting in the book of John is an excellent choice, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the source of eternal life. Let the Word of God be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are searching for truth, for meaning, and for a relationship with You. Lord, open their hearts to receive Your Word and to understand the depth of Your love for them. We pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. May they turn from their sins and follow You wholeheartedly, for You alone are worthy of our devotion.

We ask that You draw them to Yourself, Lord, and surround them with believers who can encourage and disciple them in their faith. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to know You more deeply. May they experience the peace and joy that comes from being in right relationship with You. We pray that they would walk in the light of Your truth and be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2). In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

For those who have already placed their faith in Christ, we encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him. Obedience to God’s Word is a natural outflow of a heart that loves Him. As Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Let your life be a testimony to His grace, and may you shine as a light in this dark world (Matthew 5:16).

If you are struggling with sin or doubt, remember that God’s grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). Confess your sins to Him, and He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you, and do not let the enemy deceive you into thinking you are beyond God’s reach. His love is unchanging, and His mercy endures forever.

We also want to emphasize the importance of fellowship with other believers. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." Being part of a local church or a community of believers is vital for spiritual growth and accountability.

How good and right it is to plead for those who are looking for salvation, and to set before them the plain word of God. There is a due order for faith and confession and there is a clear connection between them, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The result of the two put together is salvation, as it is written, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

We rest upon Jesus Christ crucified and not upon our faith, our repentance, our prayers or our works, for we look to Jesus who is all our salvation, the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Finisher of faith. Yet simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and that faith which saves the soul is never alone. The repentance we ought to preach is one connected with faith, and they come into the soul together. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith. True repentance gives God glory, it grieves for sin and looks with hope to the love of Christ and His great finished work, and it brings forth obedience as its gracious fruit.

Faith is the morning star of obedience. When faith is grafted upon the heart it brings forth good fruit, and we prove that we have grace by accurate obedience. To obey the Lord with all the mind and all the heart, in the way of faith, is the path of those who have found salvation. We accept the Lord Jesus by faith and He teaches us obedience and creates it in us.

Therefore we join you in prayer for every seeking soul, that the Holy Spirit would work in them to believe with the heart unto righteousness and to confess with the mouth unto salvation, to turn from sin with a holy repentance that needs not to be repented of, and to follow and obey Jesus as Lord. May they be led to read and study the testimony of Christ in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and beginning in the book of John, may they behold the Lamb of God and rest wholly upon Him. We pray that the Spirit would open their eyes to the truth that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, and that having believed, they would openly avow Him before men, for that which we privately rest upon for salvation we are to publicly confess as the ground of our confidence.

Your care for those who are seeking salvation is precious and it reflects the heart of God Himself, for our Lord counts it His glory when many are saved and the Holy Spirit desires our salvation.

You have pointed to the true and short way of salvation. We do not need to make a long circuit or carry the heavy burden of trying to earn salvation by works of the law. Faith holds salvation in a few short words, as Scripture says, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. That short word carries with it both salvation and righteousness.

That confession is a good confession, like the one Christ made before Pilate when He bore witness to the truth, and it must come from a sincere heart. This is why you rightly add that we must also confess and turn from our sins. Coming to a sense of our own sins, with godly sorrow for them and not just sorrow for the things of this life, is what leads us to long for our Redeemer and to desire His forgiveness. That godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation. True repentance is humble, it condemns sin in ourselves, and it hastens to receive remission, and then it brings forth fruits worthy of repentance in a changed life.

Christ has been made perfect through suffering and has become the Author of salvation to all who obey Him. He learned obedience and calls us to obey Him as well. Our obedience does not earn the one sacrifice He offered, for by one sacrifice He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified and there is no need for another. But those who truly believe will follow and obey Jesus, trusting not in themselves but in all that God has done for them.

So I join you in praying for every person who is seeking today, that God would grant them that humble and honest heart, that they would confess Jesus as Lord, believe that God raised Him from the dead, turn from sin, and walk in obedience to Him. Your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning with John, is wise. There they will meet Christ Himself, see His glory, hear His words, and learn to follow Him.

May the Lord draw each seeker to Himself, grant them repentance and faith, and establish them in the joy of salvation that is found in Christ alone.

What you have shared is the very heart of the gospel and it is good to lift it up so clearly. The Bible teaches that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart a person believes and is made right with God, and with the mouth a person confesses and is saved.

Scripture also teaches that there will come a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. In that day the acknowledgment will be compelled and it will not bring salvation. The time to confess Him willingly and submit to Him as Lord is now, while that confession still leads to salvation and eternal life. That is why the offer is so urgent. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation that God has provided at such cost.

That salvation was not obtained cheaply. Jesus willingly endured rejection and suffering and the agony of the cross to make a way for us to be forgiven. He did all that is needed to save us, and there is nothing more God needs to do beyond what He has already done in Christ. Our part is to respond in faith, and that faith is very near. It is as close as your own mouth and your own heart. It is not a distant journey. It is calling on the Lord where you are, trusting Him to forgive and to make you His own.

True faith includes turning from sin. To believe in Jesus as Lord means to surrender your life to Him, to turn away from what is wrong and to follow and obey Him because you love Him and because He first loved you. When that change of heart happens, sins are forgiven and a new life begins.

Your encouragement to read the Gospels is wise. The Gospel of John is a wonderful place to start, because it so clearly presents who Jesus is, that He is God with us, the Savior and Lord, and how we can have life through His name. As you continue into Matthew, Mark and Luke, you will see more of His life, His teaching, His death and His resurrection. Ask God to help you understand as you read, and to give you strength to walk with Him.
