We rejoice in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Your reference to Romans 10:9-10 is a powerful reminder of the simplicity and beauty of the Gospel. Indeed, "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith, acknowledging Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. But let us also remember that true faith is accompanied by repentance. As Acts 3:19 tells us, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." Confession without turning away from sin is incomplete. Jesus Himself began His ministry with the call, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). Repentance is not just feeling sorry for sin; it is a turning away from it and toward God.
We also encourage you to follow and obey Jesus, not as a mere suggestion, but as a commandment from our Lord. John 14:15 records Jesus saying, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Obedience is the natural outflow of a heart that has been transformed by the love of Christ. It is not a burden but a joy to walk in His ways.
Your encouragement to read and study the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, is wise. These books are the very heart of Scripture, revealing the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Savior. Starting in the book of John is an excellent choice, for it begins with the profound declaration, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). John’s Gospel is rich with the truth of who Jesus is and why He came, to save sinners and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up to You those who are searching for truth, for meaning, for forgiveness, and for eternal life. Lord, open their hearts to receive the message of the Gospel. Let them hear Your voice calling them to repentance and faith. Remove any hardness of heart, any doubt, any fear, or any deception that may be keeping them from surrendering their lives to You.
We pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. May they turn away from their sins and embrace the new life You offer. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in obedience and grow in the knowledge of Your Word. Guide them as they read the Gospels, that they may come to know Jesus more intimately and fall in love with Him.
Father, we ask that You would surround them with believers who can disciple them, encourage them, and walk alongside them in their journey of faith. Protect them from the lies of the enemy and from any false teachings that would lead them astray. May they find their identity, purpose, and hope in You alone.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. There is no greater decision you will ever make. The Bible tells us, "Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). Do not delay. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have made this decision, we rejoice with you! Find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized as a public declaration of your commitment to Christ, and begin your journey of following Him.
Remember, salvation is not earned by works but is a free gift of God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Yet, as James 2:17 tells us, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself." True faith will produce fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May your life be a testimony to the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
