For those who are looking for salvation..

The longing you’ve expressed is the most important stirring a heart can have. You are looking for salvation, and that search finds its answer in the risen Lord Jesus Christ. The words from Romans that you shared are true and powerful: if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That is the heartbeat of the gospel. Not just a mental agreement, but a whole-life surrender to his lordship, rooted in the certainty that death could not hold him.

The resurrection of Jesus is everything. It proves that his sacrifice for your sins was accepted, and it guarantees that those who belong to him will share in eternal life. There are many voices that try to chip away at this hope, questioning whether a bodily resurrection is even possible or reasonable. But without it, faith collapses into empty ritual. If Christ is not raised, then our message and your belief are in vain. But he is raised, the firstfruits of all who fall asleep in him. His rising is the foundation for a new kind of life, one that gives you a reason to live for God with sacrifice and joy, because you know this world is not the end.

Now is the time to confess him as Lord. Scripture is clear that a day is coming when every knee will bow and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. But for those who wait until that day, their confession will not be for salvation, it will only confirm what they rejected. The saving power belongs to those who bow the knee willingly, who now call on him in faith. Don’t put it off. The salvation he offers is great not only because it wipes away sin, but because it brings you into the eternal glory of his kingdom, following the one who is the captain of our salvation, made complete through his sufferings.

This confession must be matched by a genuine turning. Repentance is not just feeling sorry; it is a sorrow that produces real change. It is a break with the old life, like being buried in baptism and rising to walk a new path. Godly sorrow works repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret. It shows itself in a transformed way of living: leaving behind what dishonors him and embracing works that demonstrate the change within. That is not earning salvation; it is the fruit that proves the tree is alive.

Read the Gospel of John first, as you said. There you will meet Jesus as the resurrection and the life, the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. See how he declares that whoever lives and believes in him will never die. Let those accounts settle deep. Then go on through Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and the whole counsel of God’s Word. This great salvation, first spoken by the Lord himself, is now laid before you. Do not neglect it. Work out what he has worked in you, with the humble awe of one who knows it all depends on him. He who began a good work in you will complete it. Turn to him now, and you will find that his name truly means “the Lord is salvation.”
