We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and trust, lifting up your son as he seeks his first job. Father, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we ask that You open the doors of opportunity for him in this established company. May the interviewers see the potential, diligence, and godly character You have placed within him. We pray that he would be called for an interview soon and that You would grant him favor in their eyes, leading to his selection. Lord, we ask that You guide his steps, calm any anxiety, and fill him with confidence rooted in Your promises.

We also lift up his career and health to You, Father. May he walk in the path You have prepared for him, using his skills and talents to glorify You in all he does. Protect his physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and grant him strength and wisdom as he steps into this new season. We declare that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we trust You to lead him into the plans You have for his future, plans for good and not for harm, to give him a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Father, we want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your son has not yet placed his faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we encourage him to do so, for salvation is found in no one else. Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that we might have eternal life and a personal relationship with God (Romans 10:9-10). We pray that he would come to know Jesus as his Savior if he hasn’t already, for this is the foundation upon which all other blessings rest.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of delay or discouragement that may try to hinder this process. We declare that the Lord is your son’s shepherd, and he shall not want (Psalm 23:1). We pray that he would trust in You with all his heart and lean not on his own understanding, acknowledging You in all his ways so that You may direct his paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). May he find peace in Your presence and strength in Your promises as he waits on You.

We also encourage your son to seek godly counsel and wisdom as he prepares for this interview. Remind him to present himself in a way that honors You, with humility, integrity, and excellence. Let him remember that whatever he does, he should do it as unto the Lord and not for men (Colossians 3:23). May his words and actions reflect the love and character of Christ, drawing others to You.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

That love matters, and we’re holding this request alongside you.

One thing that sometimes helps in a tight job market is a simple, practical conversation with your son about the waiting itself. Not coaching him on answers, but just asking how he’s feeling and if there’s any part of the application or interview preparation he’d like you to pray through with him. You don’t need to solve anything for him, your steady presence and confidence in God’s leading can calm those anxious “what ifs” that play on repeat. And if you sense his health is being affected by the stress, a check-up with a doctor is a wise step, not a lack of faith. We can pray for both courage and wellness at the same time.

Remember that whatever happens with this job, your son is not defined by an offer letter. His worth is already settled, and God’s provision for him, financially, spiritually, and physically, does not hang on one company’s decision. That doesn’t make the outcome unimportant; it just means he only needs one “yes,” not all of them. We’re asking the Lord to bring that one yes soon, and for your mother’s heart to know real peace during the wait.

Father, we lift up this son to You, thank You for his life and his health. Please open the right door for his first job. Let his application be noticed, grant him an interview, and give him clarity and a calm mind when he speaks. We pray for Your favor in the selection process and for his physical strength to be fully restored. In Jesus’ name.

The plea rises for a young man’s first employment, quick success, and bodily health. Yet let us set things in their divine order. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Is your son first a man of God, then a worker in that company? Place religion first in the order of time and affection, for true godliness is as good for this life as for the next. If he learns to trust Christ and walk uprightly, then whether the interview comes swiftly or tarries, his steps are ordered by the Lord.

But you must also grasp this: in all our affairs the main thing is not to sin, not to charge God foolishly. The impatience that cries “as soon as possible” may mask a heart that would dictate terms to the Most High. Should it be according to your mind? If the mercy of a position arrives, it is a pure gift of charity. Job’s trials came thick and fast, loss of estate, children, health, yet he held fast. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. That is the ultimatum of faith. Will your son trust God if the interview is delayed or denied? Will you praise Him still? For the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Intercessory prayer preceded his own restoration. Pray first for your son’s soul, that he may repent and believe the gospel, that his chief desire be to glorify God. Then, as you pray for his friends and the lost around him, your own burden may lift. His health? Job’s flesh was restored like that of a new-born child when he saw the Lord. Vivid impressions of God come through the ashes. I urge you, then, to look beyond the immediate. Let the Master first engage your attention, His gentleness, His wounds, His Deity. Then, whether in plenty or want, you will find fresh oil upon your head.

Your son’s health and employment are indeed matters to bring before God, but I hear a mother’s heart more anxious for a swift answer than for the true prosperity of his soul. You ask for a job in an established company, for an interview and selection “as soon as possible.” Yet what is this haste? Do you believe that a career alone will make him whole? The Lord, when He healed the man at the pool, made him “a whole man,” not merely a man with working legs. That wholeness is the health of the soul, a thing no earthly employer can give. Pray rather that he be found worthy to stand before God, for a man may rise high in this world and yet be cast down in the next. The rich man in the Gospel had no pity; his wealth could not save him from the flame. So it is not wealth or position that defines a man’s success, but the disposition of his heart. A poor man who seeks nothing beyond God’s will is richer than any magnate who chafes at every delay. I do not say it is wrong to work; the Apostle said, “If any will not work, neither let him eat.” But the work of the hands must never outweigh the work of the soul. You ask me to bless his career: I say, bless his fear of the Lord, for that is the beginning of all true prosperity.

Teach your son to despise the world’s anxiety. Let him apply for the job with diligence, but let him not tie his peace to a letter of acceptance. Many a man has secured a position and lost his salvation. Many another has been refused by men and yet chosen by God. Remember that the judgment of men is “according to appearance,” but God sees the inward parts. If your son is overlooked by this company, will you still give thanks? If he is hired, will you teach him to use his wages for alms, to remember the poor Lazarus at the gate? These are the petitions that should leap from your tongue. You ask for his health: but what sort of health? A body fed and strong, or a soul washed clean from sin? Do not be like those who prepare for forty days of fasting and then return to their old sickness. Strive that both you and he may ever be ready to approach the holy Table, for that is the true health. I will lift my voice with yours and pray that he may be called to an interview, but far more do I pray that he may be called to the knowledge of Christ. If he gains the whole world and loses his own soul, what has he profited? Let him not think he stands secure if he lands this job; let him take heed lest he fall, for many have grown slack after success. And if he fails, let him not despair, for God raises up the downtrodden. In all things, teach him to seek first the kingdom of heaven, and then all these lower things, if they be needful, will be added according to God’s wisdom, not your impatience.

Your request for your son's first job is one I bring before the Lord with you. I am praying that God would strengthen his health, open the door for an interview, and give him favor with those making the decision, according to his will.

The story of Job reminds us that health and work can be disrupted without any hidden sin being the cause. Job's friends were wrong to assume his losses meant he had done something to deserve them. So if this process takes longer than you hope, do not receive that as a sign that God is against him. God's purposes run deeper than a single job opening. Even Job cried out for someone to stand between him and God, and we know that cry is answered in Jesus Christ. Through him we can ask boldly and still say, "Your will be done."

We do ask for a good outcome. I am praying that your son would be called soon, that his interview would go well, and that he would be selected if this is the right place for him. I am also praying that his health would be strengthened for the demands of a new job, and that he would not serve God only for benefits, but would honor Christ in his work whatever comes.

Job lost much, yet he did not curse God. Some results we cannot control; faithfulness we can. May the Lord bless your son's career and health, and may he come to see that his security is not in a company but in the God who gives every good thing.
