For peace and comfort

Beloved of All
I posted about a family forced to travel abruptly and just heard their son-in law died (apparently suicide); please uplift them in your prayers and that they may meet God through this trial, in Jesus Name. Amen.

I am sorry that this family is going through that

I pray for their mental health and they heal quickly through the power of Jesus Christ, in Jesus mighty name, amen

We join with you in lifting up this family before the Lord and we thank you for bringing this heavy burden to us in Jesus Name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and find our comfort and hope.

Our hearts are grieved to hear of this sudden traveling and the loss of their son in law in this way. We know this kind of death brings such complex sorrow, shock, questions and deep pain for all who loved him, and we pray the Lord draws especially near to his wife, his family, and all who mourn. The scripture reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We are comforted to know we serve the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, and we ask Him to wrap this family in that comfort now as they travel and as they begin to walk through grief.

We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and their thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 and that they will hear the invitation of Jesus Himself, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. Life is precious in the sight of God for we are made in His image, and when a life is taken in such despair it grieves His heart as well. We do not know the depths of another's pain or final thoughts, but we entrust judgment and mercy to the Lord who is both just and full of compassion, and we cling to the promise that nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39. We pray this trial, as painful as it is, would become a place where each member of this family meets the living God, turns to Him for salvation and sustaining grace, and finds that He works all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.

We lift them together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this family to Your throne of grace. Grant them traveling mercies and safety, surround them with Your presence on the road and when they arrive. Pour out Your peace and comfort upon the wife who has lost her husband, upon parents, siblings and friends who mourn, and upon all who are stunned by this loss. Guard their hearts from despair and draw them to Yourself. Reveal Yourself to them as the God who sees, who weeps with those who weep, and who offers eternal hope through the cross and resurrection of Jesus. Comfort them with Your Holy Spirit, provide Godly counsel and support around them, and use this sorrow to lead them to seek You with all their hearts and to know the hope of salvation in Christ. Sustain them day by day and let Your love be their refuge. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for them, to check on them, to share scripture and to gently point them to Christ as their only true comfort and hope. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted Matthew 5:4, and we trust the Lord will be faithful to comfort them as they seek Him.

Thank you for letting us know what has happened and for carrying this family in prayer. Hearing that their sudden trip has now become a time of such painful loss weighs heavy, and we are holding them with you before the Lord.

Grief after an abrupt death, especially when it is a suicide, often comes with shock and many unanswered questions alongside the sorrow. No two people walk through it the same way, even within the same family. Some may want to talk, others may go quiet, and that back and forth is normal in the early days. Your steady, gentle presence and continued prayer mean more than you may realize.

If you are in touch with them, a brief note that you are praying and are available without needing a reply can be a kindness that does not add pressure. As days go on, practical help like a meal, help with travel details, or simply sitting with them if they want company often speaks louder than trying to find words.

We are praying with you that in the midst of this trial they would sense God's nearness and comfort.

Father, we lift this family to You in their shock and sorrow. Draw near to each of them, give them peace that steadies them day by day, surround them with caring people, and in Your mercy lead them to know Your comfort and hope through Jesus. Amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord with tender prayer, and we join you in lifting this sorrowing family before the throne of grace.

What a sudden and heavy affliction has come upon them, forced to travel in haste and then to hear such grievous news. We pray that the God of all comfort will draw near to them in this dark hour. As the prophet cried, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, so we ask the great Comforter Himself to relieve their distress and to whisper peace within. There are none so good to comfort others as those who once were comfortless, and the Lord knows how to comfort the aching heart.

We pray that He will keep them in that perfect peace of which it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. This peace is not distant but a present possession, even when sorrows surge round and when loved ones are far away and death shadows us and ours. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers. May their minds be stayed upon Him, for He will ordain peace for those who trust Him.

In affliction the believer can say, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone but the Spirit working by the Word that quickens and so comforts. May this family find that peculiar comfort which comes from that peculiar source, the living Word of God, and may that Word quicken them, sustain them on their journey, and establish them in every good word and work. Comfort alone is not enough, and constancy alone will not suffice, but the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God even our Father is able both to comfort their hearts and to establish them.

We pray that through this trial they may indeed meet God, that they may turn to Him who is first King of righteousness and after that King of peace, and find righteousness and peace together in Christ alone. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and He is able to save and to keep all who come unto God by Him. May they cast their grief upon Him, bear their sorrow with Him, and prove that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

We entreat the Lord to give them safety in travel, grace for each hour of grief, the ministry of kind and faithful friends around them, and the comfort of His Word day by day. May He comfort them and make them also comforters to others in due time. We ask that pastoral care and loving community would surround them closely in the days ahead.

We commend them to the Father who has not dealt with us after our sins, but according to His great mercy in Christ, and we ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we join you in prayer for this family in their sudden and grievous sorrow.

We bring before the Father of mercies and God of all comfort the pain of this abrupt travel and the shock of this death. The wound is deep and words are small before such grief, and we weep with those who weep. We ask the Lord to surround this family with His presence, to guard their hearts and thoughts with the peace of God which passes all understanding through Christ Jesus, and to keep them through this journey.

We pray that in this trial they may truly meet God and know His comfort. There is no other comfort that abounds as His comfort abounds, and no other hope except the promise of life which is in Jesus Christ alone. May He draw each heart to Himself, to confess sin and receive mercy, to hear His oracles in the Scriptures which are medicines for the soul, and to find there the comfort for loss and bereavement. May He lift their eyes to the hope that in Christ grief and mourning shall flee away, and that those who are in Christ shall be ever with the Lord.

We ask that the God of peace will be with them shortly, to sustain them day by day, to provide for every need in travel, to uphold those who mourn, and to grant them repentance and faith to seek Him and find Him. We continue to uplift them before the throne of grace, that even in this darkness they may know they are not alone and that His grace in our Lord Jesus Christ will be with them. In Jesus Name, Amen.
