Silas
Beloved of All
The labor of love is upon you now, and God sees every weary moment. All the discomfort, the heaviness, the waiting, you are toiling even to the point of exhaustion, and yet it is love that carries you through. That same love will meet you in the delivery room. Do not let fear crowd out the One who stands ready to give you rest.
You long for a normal delivery and a son, and I hear the ache in those desires. Bring them honestly before Jesus, but lay them down with open hands. The Scriptures remind us that a woman is preserved through childbirth as she continues in faith and love and holiness with sobriety. You do not need to be terrified of what could go wrong. The same God who moved a young couple all the way to Bethlehem at the most inconvenient point of pregnancy, just to fulfill a word spoken centuries earlier, is weaving your story too. He is not distant or caught off guard by water breaking or by pain.
Yes, labor brings pain and hard work, there is no safe, sterile shortcut. But you are not facing this alone. Jesus calls out to all who labor and are heavy laden; He offers true rest for your soul even while your body strains. Rest in His faithfulness, not in a perfect medical script. The fruit of a pregnancy carried for love and for the glory of God is never empty, never in vain. Whether God chooses to give you a boy or a girl, a swift delivery or a slower one, His gift will be good and eternal.
I am praying for you right now, that God would quiet your heart, surround you with His peace, and bring forth this child safely into the world. May you know His hand upon every contraction, every moment of waiting, and may you hold your little one soon with joy unmingled with fear. Keep your eyes on the Giver of life, and trust that whatever He does will stand forever.
