We lift up your son and your heart before the Lord, seeking His wisdom, peace, and intervention in this challenging situation. It is clear that your love for your child is deep, and your concern is weighing heavily on you. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to move mightily in both your lives.

First, we want to encourage you with the truth that God sees your struggle and cares deeply for you and your son. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You do not carry this burden alone, God is with you, and He invites you to release your anxiety into His hands. The fact that your son writes at home but struggles in school may point to underlying fears, distractions, or even spiritual opposition. We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or hindrance that may be affecting his ability to focus and perform in the classroom. In the name of Jesus, we declare that every obstacle standing in the way of his success is removed.

We also want to gently remind you that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Your anxiety and indecision are understandable, but we pray that the Lord will grant you clarity and confidence as you navigate this situation. The school counselors may be a tool God is using to provide insight, but ultimately, your trust must be in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that you will sense His leading as you seek the best course of action for your son.

Father God, we come before You now on behalf of this mother and her son. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of her son’s understanding. Remove any blockages, fears, or distractions that are preventing him from writing and engaging in school. Give him confidence, focus, and a desire to learn. We pray for supernatural wisdom for his teachers and counselors, that they would have discernment to understand how to help him. Lord, we also ask that You would calm this mother’s heart. Replace her anxiety with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her strength to make decisions with faith, not fear. Surround her with godly counsel and encouragement. We declare that her son will excel in his studies, not by his own strength, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit working in him. May he grow not only in knowledge but in wisdom and favor with You and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).

We also want to encourage you to pray over your son daily, speaking life and confidence into him. Declare God’s promises over his mind and abilities. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that God has a plan and purpose for his life (Jeremiah 29:11). If there are any areas where he may be struggling with self-doubt or comparison to others, address those with love and truth. The enemy would love to keep him bound in insecurity, but we declare that he is set free in Jesus’ name.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). What may seem like an impossible situation to you is an opportunity for God to display His power. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Your son’s breakthrough is coming, and we believe that God will use this season to draw both of you closer to Him. Stand firm in faith, and watch what the Lord will do.

We can feel the weight you’re carrying, and it’s clear how much you love your son. When your heart is heavy with anxiety and sadness, and you feel frozen about what to do next, it’s okay to take a deep breath and remember you are not alone in this. Many parents have walked a similar road, and God sees you right here, right now.

Something simple but important: Meeting with the school counselors isn’t a failure on your part, it’s an act of love. It sounds like your son is able to write at home but not at school, and the teachers want to help figure out why. Let them be your partners. They can observe what’s happening in the classroom, share what they see, and together you can find a way forward. You don’t need to have all the answers before the meeting; just showing up and saying, “We need to understand this together,” is a brave first step.

We also want to gently encourage you to care for your own heart. The anxiety and depression you described are real, and you don’t have to wrestle them alone. If those feelings are making it hard to sleep, eat, or function, please consider speaking with your doctor, sometimes our bodies need extra support in seasons like this. It’s not a lack of faith; it’s wisdom.

We’re praying that Jesus gives you a calm resolve as you take that first step. Even if you feel weak, his strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and her son to you. Quiet her racing thoughts and lift the heaviness from her spirit. Give her clarity and courage to face the school meeting, and surround her son with understanding teachers who can unlock whatever is blocking him at school. We ask for a breakthrough in his learning and for peace in her heart. In your name, Amen.

Take no thought overmuch for this trial, for the anxiety that arises from the difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Your present depression and anxious indecision are themselves the greater hindrance. When the heart is tossed with waves of care, the judgment is marred and the spirit cannot hear the still small voice of guidance. Cast this burden upon the Lord at once; He careth for you and for your son.

Be not of an irresolute mind, without decision of character. You say you are unable to make a decision on anything, yet this is the very thing you must shake off by faith. Indecision is a sponge that soaks up sorrow and yields no resolution. There are souls so squeezable that whatever hand grips them can shape them, but you must learn to say “No” to the rush of fear and to put your foot down, declaring that you will trust in the Lord and do good. Hesitation and wavering can answer no purpose, but a prompt decision to seek His wisdom is in every way commendable.

This is a time to put yourself to school with God alone, crying, “Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God.” Do not let the summons to meet school counselors drive you to hasty, questionable policies under the guidance of Satan’s fear. Wait upon the Lord for guidance. Commit your way unto Him. The great principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide include avoiding all evil, and that means shunning the evil of unbelief which now threatens to overwhelm you. Where the Bible leads, you are bound to follow, and following its guidance you shall not walk in darkness.

Yet remember where the true writing must be done. You cannot write upon your son’s heart, nor can any counselor. The heart is locked up too tightly for us to get at it. But God has the key, and He is the great Heart-Writer. He knows what heart-writing means, for deep on His own heart are inscribed His people’s names. Pray not first that the boy excel in his studies, but that the Lord would write His law upon that young mind and heart. When the Lord does the writing, it preserves the heart and the heart preserves the writing. Seek first the kingdom of God for your child, and all other things shall be added.

Go forward, then, with a clear decision born of faith. Say with Moses, “I throw in my lot with the people of God. I take their God to be my God, and where my duty to God may call me, there will I go.” If you could lay aside your present fear and begin again, would you not still make today the decision to trust Christ with your child? Oh, yes, lift your hand unto God and go not back. The Lord will guide you; afterward He will receive you and your son to glory, and even now He will show you the path of life.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not let this trial cast you down. Our Lord, when His disciples saw a man blind from birth, said that the blindness was not from the parents’ sin, but that the works of God might be made manifest in him. So consider your son’s difficulty not as a punishment or a mark of failure, but as an occasion for God to show His power. He writes at home; the ability is there. What happens in school is a cloud, but Christ can scatter clouds with a word.

Why then are you depressed and anxious? That only adds weight to the burden. Instead, pray without ceasing. The Apostle Paul begged the churches to pray for him, that he might be delivered from unreasonable men and that his service be accepted. Even so, make your request known to God with thanksgiving, and He will minister to you. Do not refuse the meeting with the counselors; teachers are like physicians of the soul, and sometimes God speaks through them. But test everything, hold fast what is good, and trust the Lord to guide the outcome.

Remember the parents of Moses. They saw that the child was beautiful, and by faith they hid him despite the king’s edict. The grace of God was upon that infant from the swaddling-clothes, stirring even the heart of an Egyptian princess. Look at your son with the eyes of faith. See the good that God has already planted, and do not fear the schoolroom as a place of defeat. It may be that this struggle is a training-school for both of you, for him to grow in courage, for you to grow in patience. As little children learn letters slowly, so we learn virtue step by step.

Pray, then, that Jesus will open your son’s heart and calm his mind in the classroom. Ask the true Teacher, who walked the sea as on dry land, to speak peace to your anxious thoughts. A narrow way often seems harder at first, but it leads to life. I join my prayer with yours: may the God of all mercy guide you, refresh your spirit, and cause your son to excel for His glory. Only believe, and you will see the goodness of the Lord.
