For my family

We join with you in lifting your family before our heavenly Father, for we hear your heart crying out for healing and for change within your home. It is a beautiful and godly desire to want to be better to one another, and we know God delights in that prayer. His word tells us how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity Psalm 133:1 and we know He desires your family to dwell together in love and peace.

We are encouraged that you want God to change each of you, because true change begins in our own hearts as we submit to Him. Scripture calls us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and to bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14. We pray that each member of your family would choose humility, patience and forgiveness, and that love would cover a multitude of sins 1 Peter 4:8. When we love one another as Christ loves us, many of the problems and issues that divide us begin to lose their power.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we bring this precious family before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus. You see the problem and the issue that is causing pain and division, even where we do not know the details, You know them fully. We ask You to bring healing, reconciliation and peace into this home. Soften every heart, help each one to turn from pride and selfishness and to be tenderhearted toward one another. Help them to speak with kindness, to listen with patience, to forgive quickly and to bear with one another in love. Make them better to each other by the power of Your Holy Spirit, and let their home be a place where You are honored. We ask that You would fix what is broken according to Your perfect will and for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We want to gently encourage you that we have access to God only through Jesus Christ. You prayed to God, which is good, but we want to remind you that Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling upon His name that we are saved and can come boldly to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to bring every prayer to God in His name, for He is our mediator and our hope. We continue to stand with you, trusting that God who began a good work in your family will be faithful to complete it.

We are praying for you and your family today. It means a lot that you brought this to the Lord so simply and honestly, asking Him to change each of you to be better toward one another.

Family hurts can feel tangled because everyone affects each other. Often it is not just one issue but the way we talk and react when we are tired or hurt. We fall into patterns of blaming or shutting down without meaning to, and it leaves distance where we want closeness.

One small step that often helps is to talk with one family member at a time in a calm moment, listening first to understand rather than to defend. Even choosing to let go of keeping score in one conversation can begin to soften things. Change in a family usually comes gradually, as each person takes a small step toward patience and kindness, and God works through those steps.

We also know that wanting to forgive and actually feeling peace about it can be two different things. It is okay to decide you want to treat each other as valuable again, even while your feelings are still catching up. That is part of how healing grows.

Father, we lift this family to You. You see the problem they are facing and the desire to love each other better. Bring Your peace into their home, soften hearts, help them hear each other and show grace day by day. Guide them toward Your will and keep them close to You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your prayer for your family has been heard, and it is a gracious thing that you have brought this burden to the throne of grace. The Lord who delights in love and who is the God of peace has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and He desires the love of your heart and the peace of your household.

We are reminded that Divine Love is seen in three postures, love abounding, love lamenting when our love grows cold, and love abiding, remaining constant notwithstanding all provocations. How sweet it is to dwell upon that abounding love which is the joy of our hearts. If the Lord did not love us very much, He would not care so much about our love towards Him, and His very chiding when we withhold our love is proof that He values it and is grieved when it grows cold. May there arise out of your own hearts the perfume of another love, born of the first, the love of your renewed hearts towards your God, which is a spark of the eternal flame of His love for you. May it never be quenched in you nor in your house.

The unity which every believing family needs is the unity of the Spirit, and this unity is manifested in love. It is sustained daily by the Spirit of God, He who makes us one keeps us one. Divisions never begin with those who are full of love to the Savior, but living near to Christ is the best way of promoting unity. Satan is busy to mar it, and we must watch lest we contend even for right things with a wrong spirit. True unity is unity in the truth of God through the Spirit of God, a unity of life working itself out in love and in co working together against the common foe.

And so we pray that the Lord will work this reconciliation in your family at once by the power of the Holy Spirit. That blessed work of peace was done long ago at the cross, and now all that remains is that hearts should turn towards their Maker again in love and peace, and then turn towards one another in that same love. May He forgive what is past, heal what is broken, and teach each of you to love one another not in mere talk but in real, practical, active love which never fails. May He make you intense in affection for Christ's sake and because of the love of God which you see in one another.

We join our faith with yours and ask the Father to fix that which is troubling your family according to His wisdom, to soften every heart, to remove bitterness and coldness, and to change each one to be more patient, more kind, more forgiving, even as Christ has forgiven us. May He help you to show your love by joying in Him as He joys in you, and to prove yourselves friends of Christ by being free at His table and drinking abundantly of His love.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this family. Thou knowest the problem which burdens them, though we do not. Thou seest every heart. Pour out Thy love abroad in their hearts by the Holy Spirit. Make them one in Thee, keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Teach them to love Thee first, and then to love one another with a pure heart fervently. Change them, we beseech Thee, and make them better persons to each other, that Thy name may be glorified in their home. For Jesus Christ's sake, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your family has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We ask God to have mercy on your household and to bring His peace where there is trouble. We pray that He will change each heart in your family, teaching all of you to be more patient, gentle and forgiving toward one another, and to love one another as Christ has loved us.

Scripture teaches us that many conflicts come from a deeper root within the heart, from wanting what belongs to this life, from envy or from pride. We pray that God will help you to cut out that root, so that the fruit of strife will wither. Pray that He will teach you to hold lightly the things of this earth, money, honor, and reputation, and to treasure instead what is above, which no one can steal. When you learn to seek the glory that comes from God, you will find it easier to be at peace with one another.

We also pray that God will give you humility. When we see our own need for mercy, we do not exalt ourselves over others but consider ourselves servants who depend wholly on grace. That humility quiets quarrels and makes room for love. Do not rush to win every argument, but be quiet and patient, waiting on the Lord and showing nobleness of spirit.

God sometimes allows a season of trial to last for a time so that we may gain more from it, and He brings the help near when we are ready to receive it. Trust that He is at work even now, and that He will not test you beyond what you can bear.

So we pray: Father in heaven, look upon this family with compassion. Forgive what is past, heal what is broken, and make each one new in Christ. Take away pride and selfish desire, and plant love, kindness and forbearance. Help them to speak truth in love, to forgive as they have been forgiven, and to walk together in unity. Fix what is troubled according to Your wisdom and Your will, and make them better to one another for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
