How tenderly you have laid these many burdens before the throne of grace, and how gracious is our Lord to hear such prayers. We join our hearts with yours and bring these petitions before our heavenly Father, who delights to hear the cries of His people.
We pray for the homeless and for all who are sick, and for those who mourn the loss of family members. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He binds up their wounds. He who healed all manner of sickness when He walked among men is the same yesterday, today and forever. He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, and there is no disease in the long list of human affliction which His hand cannot touch. We pray that those who suffer would look to Christ, who is the Word whom God has sent for the healing of sin sick souls, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed through Him alone.
For your son who suffers with a fistula and for your daughter who is sick, we ask the Great Physician to lay His healing hand upon them. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and even the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ has healing virtue, to change the life blood and make the nature new. May they know His presence in their affliction, and may they find that wholeness which comes first to the soul through forgiveness, and then to the body according to His wise and loving will. We pray that they would be kept in His care, and that whether He grants present healing or sustaining grace, they would see that this sickness is not unto eternal death but may end in everlasting health for those who trust Him.
For your grandson, your daughter in law, and for all your friends and family, we pray that the Lord would guide every step. It is a blessed thing when a soul feels its need of a Guide, for naturally we do not like being guided, but the work of grace teaches us to bow with submission to the will of God and to avoid everything that is evil. May He guide you with His counsel, which is an unerring guide, and afterward receive you to glory. There is no true safety or glory for any who take their own course, but those who take God for their Guide are furnished with great principles and kept in His way.
We ask also for His keeping power over you all, that He would preserve you from the pestilence and from every virus that would harm you. Yet we know that you may have a house full of sanctity and full of sickness at the same time, for the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. Whom the Lord loves He chastens, and His chastening is not a sign of His displeasure but of His love. May you be kept safe in His hand, which no evil can finally penetrate, until He brings you to that place where there shall be no more sickness, for the Tree of Life bestows immortal health on all beneath its shade.
May the Lord Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, grant you to know that your sins are forgiven and your soul healed, and may that healing be the spring of praise and service to Him. We thank Him with you for all He has done for you and your family, and we trust Him for all He will yet do.
Father, hear this prayer for every name here lifted up, forgive through the blood of Christ, heal according to Thy mercy, guide with Thy counsel, and keep from all evil, for Jesus sake. Amen.
