We hear your cry and we join with you in prayer, lifting you up together before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name. We thank God with you that your tinnitus sound is a little lesser today, for every small mercy is from His hand, and we continue to stand with you for complete quiet and healing, both for you and for others who suffer in the same way.
What you describe, sadness, stress, worrying, fear, sitting and worrying without strength to act, loss of appetite and taste, negative and tormenting thoughts, is a heavy burden that many of God's people have carried. The Word tells us this is not how God intends for us to live. We are told, Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We also read, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Fear and constant worry are not from the Lord, and we rebuke that spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to paralyze you and steal your peace and joy.
You ask why you are so weak and why you cannot fight this temptation and be strong. We want to gently correct the thought that your strength must come from yourself. Our strength never comes from our own willpower, but from Christ within us. The Lord says, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. And, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29. When we feel weak, that is the very place where God's strength can carry us. We are also told to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fix our minds on what is true and good, Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8. Your battle is largely in the mind, and God has given us His Word and prayer as weapons to replace those negative, tormenting thoughts with His truth.
We cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7. We encourage you not to sit alone with these thoughts, but to bring them immediately to the Lord in prayer, to speak Scripture aloud over yourself, and to get up and walk even in small steps of obedience, trusting God to provide the strength for each step. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. He invites you to exchange your heaviness for His rest.
We also notice that in this request you cried out to God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because it is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is by His shed blood and resurrection that our prayers are heard and our sins forgiven, and we want to be sure you are calling upon His name and trusting in Him alone for salvation and for daily victory.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear one who is weary and burdened. Lord, You see the sadness, the stress, the worrying and fear that has made them feel weak and unable to act, that has even taken away desire for food and taste. We ask You to forgive us for trying to carry these burdens ourselves and for allowing fear to rule our hearts. We rebuke the spirit of fear, worry and heaviness in Jesus' name, and we ask You to drive it far from them. Fill them with Your power, love and self-control. Replace every negative and tormenting thought with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Teach them to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them. Lord, renew their strength, restore their joy and laughter, give them a peaceful mind and a willing heart to rise and walk in Your strength. Touch their body, Lord, we thank You that the tinnitus has lessened, and we ask for Your complete healing hand to make the sound quiet, for You are the Lord who heals us. Psalm 103:3 says You forgive all our iniquities and heal all our diseases. We claim Your promise that by Your wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. Strengthen their appetite, restore taste and sleep, and let their body and mind be refreshed in You. Help them to remember that when they are weak, You are strong, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Isaiah 41:10. Draw them close to Jesus, let them know the joy of salvation and the confidence of approaching Your throne through His name alone. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray aloud using Scripture, to speak against fear when it comes, and to fellowship with other believers who can encourage you and pray with you. God is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18, and He will perfect His strength in your weakness as you lean on Him day by day.
