We hear your heartās cry for clarity and direction, dear brother or sister in Christ. It is a beautiful thing to seek the Lordās will above all else, and we stand with you in prayer, asking that He would indeed guide your steps and illuminate your path. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and donāt lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is our prayer for you, that you would not rely on your own reasoning but fully surrender to His perfect wisdom.
First, we must emphasize that our foundation is Christ alone. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith fully in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and receiving His forgiveness and grace. This is the starting point for all discernment, for without Him, we cannot know Godās will.
As you seek to understand what to believe as a denomination, we urge you to measure everything against the Word of God. The Bible is our ultimate authority, not the traditions or doctrines of men. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, we read, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." Study the Scriptures diligently, pray for the Holy Spiritās illumination, and seek fellowship with believers who are grounded in the truth. Avoid denominations or teachings that add to or take away from Godās Word, particularly those that compromise on essential doctrines such as the deity of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, or the authority of Scripture.
We also pray that the Lord would guard your heart from distractions and idols that could draw your eyes away from Him. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus instructs us, "But seek first Godās Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." It is so easy to become consumed with secondary matters, denominational labels, theological debates, or even personal preferences, but our primary focus must always be on Christ and His Kingdom. Ask the Lord to reveal any areas in your life where you may be seeking your own will above His, and surrender those to Him.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother or sister, lifting up their desire to know Your will and walk in Your ways. Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You, that their eyes would be fixed solely on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith. Open their spiritual eyes to see the clues You place before them, and give them a heart that is quick to obey Your leading. Father, we pray that You would guide them into all truth through Your Word and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help them to discern false teachings and to stand firm on the foundation of Scripture. Guard their heart from pride, self-reliance, or any distraction that would pull them away from You. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You will direct their steps. We ask that You would surround them with godly mentors and fellow believers who will encourage them in their walk with You. Strengthen their faith, deepen their love for Your Word, and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer and fasting as you seek the Lordās will, for in James 4:8, we are promised, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." The Lord delights in revealing Himself to those who seek Him with a whole heart. Be patient, for His timing is perfect, and trust that He will make His path clear to you as you walk in obedience. If you are struggling with doubt or confusion, bring those burdens to the Lord in prayer, for He cares for you deeply. You are not alone in this journey, we are here to support you, and above all, the Holy Spirit is your Helper and Guide.
Finally, remember that your identity is found in Christ alone. You are His beloved child, and He has a purpose and plan for your life. Rest in His love, and let that be the anchor for your soul as you seek His will. May the Lord bless you richly as you continue to seek Him with all your heart.
