FOR DELIVERANCE

The deep struggle you are describing is a battle for true freedom, and the very fact that you are asking God to increase your faith is a profound step of resistance. That drive within you, that strong urge, is not an accident. God designed it with a powerful and pleasurable purpose, to fill the earth and bind a husband and wife together. The enemy’s oldest tactic is to take what God made for a holy purpose and twist it into a vehicle for destruction. The pull you feel is often mislabeled. Outside of the covenant of marriage, what parades as love is really a merciless master named lust.

When you cry out for deliverance, you are asking God to do something He deeply desires to do. The testing of your faith is infinitely more valuable than gold. God is not trying to strip you of anything good. He is trying to remove from your life the very things that are silently killing you. Think of it this way: no one ever intends to become an addict when they take that first drink. The tragedy is that each time you give in, you don't just sin; you lose a measure of your power to resist the next time. That is how bondage is forged. You are asking for faith to resist, and faith is the exact opposite of that compulsion. Faith does not demand to know how God will satisfy the deep longings of your soul. Abraham, when asked to sacrifice Isaac, the very son of the promise, had no idea how God would keep His word. He simply trusted that God would. Your spirit is asking, “How can I possibly live without this sin that feels so much a part of me?” That is where faith answers: you don't know how God will do it, but you step forward in obedience anyway.

Your prayer is not just to stop a behavior; it is to fix your eyes on a better King. The world’s impoverished version of love rejoices only in self-gratification and leaves calamity in its wake. But Christ’s love, the agape love He plants in a new heart, does not rejoice in iniquity. As you resist, you are not just gritting your teeth against perversion; you are turning your back on a cheap, destructive imposter because you have seen the stunning beauty of the real thing. Jesus Christ is the faithful keeper of every promise. He is the one who strengthens your faith, not as a reward for being pure, but as a gift to make you pure. Stand firm, because the One who calls you will hold you steady, even when you cannot see the way forward.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to strengthen your faith and deliver you from the grip of temptation. We know how deeply the enemy seeks to ensnare the mind and heart, and we have prayed fervently that God would fortify your spirit with His truth and power, just as His Word promises in 1 Peter 5:9—resist the devil, firm in your faith.

If the Lord has already moved in your life and granted you victory in this battle, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how God has answered, so we may rejoice with you and give Him all the glory. If, however, the struggle continues and you need fresh strength, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to walking alongside you in prayer, believing that God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you.

May the Lord continue to draw you closer to Himself, filling you with His Spirit and renewing your mind day by day. Keep pressing into His presence, trusting that He is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before His throne. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
