We hear your heart for your brother, and we lift him up before the Lord with compassion. The struggles he faces, lack of basic needs, rejection, and instability, are heavy burdens, but we serve a God who sees, cares, and provides. Let us first bring this before the throne of grace in prayer.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are the God who hears the cries of the needy and lifts up the oppressed. We lift up to You, asking that You would open doors that no man can shut. Provide for his physical needs, food, shelter, and employment, according to Your riches in glory. Give him favor with those who can help him obtain the resources he needs, including a new photo ID and a permanent place to live. Lord, we ask that You would break the cycle of rejection in his life and replace it with opportunities that lead to stability and hope.
Father, we know that You care deeply for the poor and the marginalized. Your Word says in Psalm 34:18-19, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." We claim this promise over ’s life. Deliver him from despair and fill him with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Guide his steps and surround him with people who will show him Your love and kindness.
We also pray for his spiritual well-being. If he does not yet know You as his Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Let him find rest in You, Lord. If he already knows You, strengthen his faith and remind him that You are his Provider and his Refuge.
In the practical sense, we encourage him to seek out local churches, food banks, and community organizations that can assist with immediate needs. Many churches have outreach programs specifically designed to help those in crisis. We also suggest he visits government assistance offices, such as social services or workforce development centers, which are equipped to help with IDs, housing, and job placement. Let him not grow weary in seeking help, for Your Word says in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of discouragement or hopelessness that may be weighing on him. We declare that his story is not over, and that You are working all things together for his good. Give him the strength to persevere and the wisdom to make choices that lead to blessing. Surround him with Your angels and let him feel Your presence in tangible ways.

What a mercy that you have brought your brother before the throne of grace! The many rejections he has endured from men may well be the goad by which the Lord is driving him to the only unfailing refuge. When a poor bird is pursued by the hawk, it forgets its fear of man and flies to his very bosom for safety. So these sharp disappointments are often meant to teach us that there is no true help but in God.
Bid your brother look to the promise where the Lord does not merely spread a broad wing for shelter, but enters into tender detail, "He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust." There is warmth in those feathers, comfort for the heart, and a rest which earth’s most furnished house cannot give. If he would find food, let him remember that at the Father’s table there is provision more bountiful than Solomon’s feast. The soul that comes to Christ, though it had not a crust of bread or a place to lay its head, is received with singing and clad in the best robe. To be a child of God is a higher dignity than any earthly prince can claim, and all the supplies of the covenant are made over to such.
Yet do not think that the Lord is unmindful of the body’s needs. He who clothes the lilies and feeds the ravens will not desert His own. Encourage your brother to seek first the kingdom of heaven and His righteousness, and these other things will be added. Let him also lay his case before the church, for the saints are bound to bear one another’s burdens. I am moved to pray that soon he will have cause to set up a stone of remembrance for deliverance, for the Lord delights to lift the beggar from the dunghill and to set him among princes.

Your concern for your brother is good, but let it be more than natural affection. Raise it into spiritual love, which comes from above and is not overthrown by repeated rejection. The things you list are not luxuries. Food, a place to live, identification, and work are among the necessities of this life, and the Apostle does not forbid making provision for the body for health and need, but only for wantonness and excess. So it is right to seek these things and right for the church to help.
But do not make your hope rest only on the answer of men. Men often reject those whom God has received. Our Lord came from Nazareth, and people said no good thing could come from there. His apostles were poor fishermen mending torn nets. Your brother's poverty is not proof that God has abandoned him. Yet let him use his need as a call to honesty and diligence, not as an excuse for idleness or despair.
Go to the deacons and faithful members of your congregation. Let them gather food and supplies, help him obtain his identification, open a way to housing, and seek out work. The Lord said, "You have gained your brother." So do not treat this only as a problem to be solved, but as a brother to be gained. And above all, do not give only bread. Give him the gospel. If he gains food and a job and a roof but does not gain Christ, he remains poor forever. If he gains Christ, he can endure closed doors and rejection, because he has a treasure in heaven and a city not made by hands. I will ask the church to pray, and I charge you to do what is in your power and to keep knocking until the door opens.

I am sorry to hear how much your brother has been carrying. He is not unseen. The needs he is bringing before God, food, shelter, an identity that is recognized, work, and a place to belong, are the same deep needs people have always laid before the Lord. Repeated rejection can make a person feel as though God himself has turned away, but being turned away by people and programs is not the same as being turned away by God.
The book of Job shows us that a person can lose nearly everything and still be the object of God's own confidence. Job could not see what God was doing, and his friends only added to his misery by acting as though his suffering proved he had done something wrong. They were miserable comforters. I do not want that to be our response. Your brother's problem is not that God has forgotten him, and we should not treat his obstacles as a judgment on his life.
We will ask the Lord to open the doors that have kept shutting: a way to replace his identification, access to food, stable housing, and honest work. We also want to help in practical ways, not only in words. If you are able to share privately what documents he already has and what help he has tried, that will give us a clearer place to begin.
