We hear your heart’s longing for love, and we join you in seeking God’s will in this deeply personal desire. The Bible tells us that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18), and God Himself designed marriage as a sacred covenant between a man and a woman—a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Your desire for companionship is natural and good, but we must ensure that this longing aligns with God’s perfect plan.
First, let us rebuke any impatience or desperation that may lead you to compromise biblical standards. The world often promotes relationships based on fleeting emotions or physical attraction, but God calls us to seek a spouse who shares our faith and commitment to Him. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If you are pursuing a relationship outside of God’s design—whether through premarital intimacy, same-sex attraction, or unequally yoked partnerships—we must repent and turn back to His ways.
We also encourage you to examine your heart: Are you seeking love *in* Christ, or are you seeking love *instead of* Christ? Jesus must be the foundation of our lives, including our relationships. If He is not, we risk making an idol of marriage or a spouse. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). Trust that if God has marriage for you, He will bring the right person at the right time.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who longs for love. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that You would align them with Your will. If it is Your plan for them to marry, prepare them to be a godly spouse and bring them a partner who loves You above all else. Guard their heart from impatience, compromise, or idolatry, and help them to find their ultimate fulfillment in You alone.
Father, if there is any unconfessed sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Renew their mind with Your truth and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You.
We declare that no weapon formed against this one will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will guide their steps according to Your perfect timing. May they grow in faith, patience, and love for You as they trust in Your plan. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek God’s face, dear one. Spend time in His Word, surround yourself with godly community, and serve Him wholeheartedly. If marriage is His will for you, it will come in His perfect timing. Until then, find joy in His presence and trust that He is writing your story far better than you could imagine.
