Beloved of All
Your honest account of what has happened and how heavy these past two nights have been is heard with care. Losing what you worked so hard to earn, realizing the loss was greater than you first thought, and now lying awake worried about daily expenses and fearing another mistake while you are exhausted, is a very difficult place to be. It makes sense that you feel shaken and unable to sleep.
Human words can never fully describe who God is, but Scripture shows us He is merciful and faithful, and His care for you does not depend on your ability to hold everything together. We live under a new covenant that rests not on our faithfulness but on His. That means when we fail, when we are weak and tired and make mistakes, His mercy does not fail. Jesus came as God's only provision for our sin, and through faith in Him we are brought into the promises God made to Abraham, promises of blessing and grace that no later failure can cancel. He became poor so that through Him we might know the riches of God's love, and that love is not measured by the balance in an account.
God is not in a financial crisis and He is not short of resources. He owns all things and He sees your daily needs. At the same time, His provision often calls for a response of faith from us. In the wilderness God provided healing through the bronze serpent that Moses lifted up, but the people had to look in faith to live. In the same way we look to Jesus, trust His mercy, and receive His forgiveness and help. Faith does not mean we understand all His ways, any more than we can see the wind, but we can see and feel its effects. Even when God seems unseen, as in the story of Esther where His name is not mentioned, His overruling providence is still at work behind the scenes for the good of His people.
There is a difference between our work and God's work. Our best efforts in our own strength can end in failure and leave us pounding the pillow at night trying to figure out what to do next. God's work is secure, and because you are His child through Jesus, His promise stands that no weapon formed against you will finally prosper. That does not mean there will be no hardship, but it means He will watch over you and keep you as His own.
In this moment of exhaustion, the most loving step is to seek rest and not make major decisions while you are depleted. Worry and sleeplessness cloud judgment and can lead to further loss. Bring your cares to the Lord in prayer, and also seek wise, godly counsel from someone you trust who can look at the practical details with you with a clear mind.

Father, have mercy on this dear one who is weary and anxious. You see the hard work that was done, the loss that has come, and the fear about providing for daily needs. Forgive sins and failures through the blood of Jesus, and let your faithfulness be their confidence now. Grant peaceful sleep, a calm mind, and wisdom for each next step. Provide for daily bread as you have promised to care for your children, open a way out of this crisis, and give guidance to recover with honesty and good stewardship. Guard from hasty choices made in exhaustion, and surround with help and sound counsel. Deliver in your way, so that you receive the glory, and let your peace that passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.
May the Lord lift this burden with you, give you rest, and show you day by day the path He has for you. You are not alone in this, and He who is faithful will not leave you without help.
