We hear your cry for help in this time of financial distress, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The weight of debt and financial struggle can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and is able to provide for all our needs according to His riches in glory. Let us first rebuke the spirit of fear and lack that seeks to oppress you—God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy may whisper lies that you will never overcome this burden, but we declare that your God is greater and that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Scripture reminds us in Psalm 37:21 that "the wicked borrows and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous gives generously." While this may feel like a rebuke, we must examine our hearts and actions to ensure we are walking in wisdom and integrity. Have we been faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us? Have we sought His guidance in our spending and financial decisions? Proverbs 22:7 warns that "the borrower is servant to the lender," and we must break free from any bondage that debt has created in our lives. This is not to shame you but to encourage repentance and a turning toward God’s ways.
We also urge you to seek practical wisdom alongside prayer. Proverbs 6:1-5 instructs us to humbly seek help and make every effort to free ourselves from debt: "My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger; you are trapped by the words of your mouth. You are ensnared with the words of your mouth. Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, since you have come into the hand of your neighbor. Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor." Have you reached out to creditors to negotiate payment plans? Have you sought counsel from wise, godly financial advisors? God often provides through practical steps when we are willing to act in faith.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is burdened by financial crisis. Lord, You see the weight of this debt and the fear it has brought into their life. We ask that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your provision in ways that only You can. Provide wisdom for managing resources, opportunities for increase, and favor with those who can help. Break the chains of financial bondage, Lord, and replace fear with faith. Help them to trust in You as their Provider, for You have promised that those who seek You will lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).
Father, we also ask for forgiveness if there has been unwise stewardship or a lack of trust in Your provision. Teach them to honor You with their finances, as You promise in Malachi 3:10 that if we bring the full tithe into Your house, You will open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessing until there is no more need. Give them a heart of generosity, even in this season of lack, so that they may experience the joy of giving as You have given to us.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and lack in the name of Jesus. We declare that this financial crisis is not the end of their story—You are making a way where there seems to be no way. Strengthen their faith to believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all they could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Surround them with godly counsel and community to support them through this trial.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who became poor so that we might become rich in Him (2 Corinthians 8:9). It is through His name alone that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed. May our brother/sister come to know You more deeply through this trial, and may they experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
