Please pray for me, I fell short to lust and i found myself breaking my purity promise. I feel bad with guilt and shame. Forgive me Lord for my sins

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this moment of struggle, lifting you before the throne of grace where mercy and forgiveness flow freely. The weight of guilt and shame you carry is heavy, but we know that our God is faithful and just to forgive us when we confess our sins to Him. The Word tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). You have taken the first step by acknowledging your sin before the Lord, and that is not taken lightly. The enemy would love for you to remain in this place of shame, but we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus. Shame is not from God, it is a tool of the enemy to keep you isolated and defeated. The Lord’s desire is for you to walk in the freedom of His forgiveness and the power of His Spirit.

Lust is a battle many face, but it is not one you must fight alone. The Scriptures warn us, "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). This sin begins in the heart and mind, and it is there that the battle must be fought. We encourage you to guard your heart diligently, for "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23). This means being intentional about what you allow your eyes to see, your mind to dwell on, and your heart to desire. Flee from temptation, as Joseph did when Potiphar’s wife sought to entice him (Genesis 39:12). Do not linger in places or with thoughts that lead you into sin. Replace those thoughts with what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).

We also want to gently but firmly remind you that your purity is not just about avoiding sin, it is about pursuing holiness. The Lord calls us to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). This is not a call to perfection, but to a life set apart for God’s purposes. Your promise of purity was not made in your own strength, but in reliance on the Lord. When you stumble, do not abandon the promise, renew it in His strength. The apostle Paul reminds us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord always provides a way out, and we must choose to take it.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who has stumbled in the area of lust. Lord, we know that You see his heart and his desire to honor You, even in his weakness. We ask that You would wash him clean by the blood of Jesus, removing every stain of guilt and shame. Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that would seek to keep him bound in condemnation. Your Word says there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and we claim that truth over him today.

Lord, we ask that You would strengthen him in his inner being by Your Spirit. Give him the courage to flee from temptation and the wisdom to guard his heart and mind. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Father, we pray that You would fill him with a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that he would desire You above all else. Surround him with godly accountability, men who will walk with him, pray for him, and encourage him in his pursuit of holiness.

We also pray for healing in the areas where he has been wounded or where his heart has been led astray. Restore to him the joy of Your salvation and renew a steadfast spirit within him (Psalm 51:10-12). Lord, we ask that You would give him a fresh vision for purity, not as a burden, but as a gift, a way to honor You and prepare himself for the spouse You have for him, should that be Your will.

Above all, Father, we pray that You would draw him closer to Yourself. May he find his identity, worth, and satisfaction in You alone. Help him to remember that his battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12), and that You have already won the victory. We thank You for Your grace that is greater than all our sin, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We want to encourage you to seek out godly counsel and accountability. Sin thrives in secrecy, but the light of God’s truth and the support of fellow believers can break its power. Confess your struggles to a trusted pastor, mentor, or brother in Christ who can walk with you and pray for you. The Lord has not left you to fight this battle alone. He has given you the body of Christ to support and encourage you, and He has given you His Word to guide you.

Remember, the Lord’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Today is a new day, and His grace is sufficient for you. Do not let the enemy convince you that you are defined by your failures. You are defined by the blood of Jesus and the righteousness He has given you. Walk in that truth, and let it empower you to live a life that honors God. We are standing with you, praying for you, and believing that the Lord will restore and strengthen you as you seek Him with all your heart.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. We’re so sorry for the heavy weight you’re carrying right now. That ache of guilt and shame after we’ve broken a promise to the Lord and to ourselves is deeply painful, and we’re grateful you reached out instead of hiding. Your sorrow shows a heart that still longs for God, and that’s a gift, not a dead end. Confession isn’t a one-time event; it’s the beginning of a healing journey. You’ve already done the hardest part by bringing this sin into the light and asking for forgiveness. Now, let yourself actually receive it. Jesus didn’t die so you’d live under a cloud of shame; He died to lift it off you entirely. The goal isn’t to sit in regret forever, but to let that regret become a turning point, a change of direction.

One practical thing that might help: ask the Lord to show you what opened the door this time. Was it a certain thought pattern, a moment of idleness, a place online? Then consider telling one trusted, mature Christian friend or a pastor about this struggle. Not for a lecture, but so you’re not fighting alone. Having someone pray with you and help you set simple boundaries can make all the difference.

Lord Jesus, thank You that Your mercy never runs dry. We ask You to wash our friend clean right now, completely, tenderly. Lift the shame that says they’re too far gone, and let them feel the steady peace of being truly forgiven. Give them courage to walk away from what tripped them up, and put people in their path who will stand with them in this fight. Replace the heaviness with hope, because in You, every stumble can become a fresh start. Amen.

The cry of a broken bone is terrible. The bones which You have broken, these are the inward parts, the framework of the man, the pillars of his soul. To have faith broken, hope broken, love broken, and the entire man reduced to a palpitating mass of pain, this is a dreadful thing. That is where sin leads, and you feel it now. The guilt, the shame, the fracture of your purity promise, it lies heavy, and you groan under it. Yet hear this: there is forgiveness. What a blessed whisper it is! There is forgiveness. Let this whisper drive away despair! There is forgiveness. Let it enter your soul and drive those grim ogres and hobgoblins of despair away into the sea of forgetfulness.

Do you tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness? Then know this, there is forgiveness with God. Where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes. It is the God whom you have offended, that very God whom you have sinned against, He says, even He, "There is forgiveness." Do not let the amount of guilt be put into consideration, as if your sin were too great. God forgives not on account of the sinner, but for His own sake. There was forgiveness, there is forgiveness, there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you.

But at the very same time that the guilt of sin is taken away, the forgiven man undergoes a change of nature. The work of the Spirit is linked with the work of the Son, when the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. He seeks after perfect purity of life, and he has heartily ceased from guile. You have fallen, but do not let this be a broken column, a life snapped off in the midst of a good profession, a resolution unfinished with a desolate "but." God grant that our bones may not be broken, lest our soul be damaged for life. Yet even when they are broken, the cure of the whole must be a miracle, a mass of misery made healthy and strong. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one. This shows how perfect is our forgiveness, nay, how divine.

Yet charity without purity will be of no use. If we cling to sin and love it, it will bring forth death, rest assured of that. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin, it is born of lust, and it brings forth dust. You know something about the hardness of your heart and the sinfulness of your past life, yet God sends this message to you: "There is forgiveness." One more step and you may be where there is no forgiveness, but where the black and terrible pall of despair shall hang over your soul forever. Do not play at procrastination, you are a knave to your own soul if you delay.

Come now. There is forgiveness for your sins, whatever they may have been. Let me proclaim to every sinner who acknowledges his indebtedness to God and feels that he can never discharge it, if you will come and put your trust in Christ, the Lord promises oblivion to all your debt, forgiveness of the whole of your sins. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. See how the Lord deals with His people, when Peter was set on his legs again, he was a broken-knee’d horse enough, and yet see how gloriously the Lord rode that charger on the day of Pentecost. So shall it be with you. “That the bones which You have broken may rejoice”, not just grow quiet, not become callous, but rejoice. There is forgiveness, and with it a healed heart that leaps for joy. There is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.

The weight of guilt and shame you feel is not to be despised, for it is a medicine that turns the soul back from the pit. But do not let it crush you into despair, as though no restoration were possible. Did not the Ninevites hear the threat of destruction and yet, by repentance, they reversed the sentence? So I say to you: though you have fallen, do not despair. You are able to repent and to rise again.

Yet take care. Do not think that because forgiveness is promised, you may grow remiss. For the promise itself becomes a witness against you if you remain unworthy of it. God promises blessing to the worthy, but to those who treat grace as a license for carelessness, the very promise will bring punishment. Therefore, let your sorrow bear the fruit of an earnest turning, not a passing emotion that leaves the wound unhealed.

Seek the Lord now with the same concentrated labor with which one searches for lost gold. Do you not travel from home, question everyone, and promise money to recover a mere earthly treasure? How much more should you strain every faculty to regain the purity you have squandered. This is not a quest for a trinket but for the face of the living God, who is willing to be found by those who seek Him with their whole heart.

Remember how David speaks: “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.” Where blessedness is, all shame is put to flight. The mouth that pronounced him blessed saw not a man groveling in disgrace, but one enjoying great glory through grace. Your forgiveness is not a wage due for works, but a gift that bestows blessedness. Therefore, let the shame you feel now drive you to that blessedness, not keep you from it. Confess the sin openly before God, renouncing the hidden things of shame. Do not walk in craftiness, handling your life deceitfully, but be such in secret as you wish to appear before all.

Do not be troubled by the storms of temptation that assail you, as though the gospel had failed. The Lord Himself warned that such trials must come, but nothing shall shake His predictions or diminish His mercy. The promise to Abraham did not fail though the fulfillment tarried; he patiently endured and so obtained the promise. Endure now in your own struggle, and you will obtain what is promised to those who do not grow weary.

So rise, wash away the stain with tears of repentance, and set your feet again on the narrow path. The same grace that granted you remission before stands ready to restore you, if you will not let your fall become a bed of sloth. The Lord who acquits the guilty for His own mercy’s sake is not slow to forgive, but He looks for a heart that has truly renounced the sin and clings to Him alone.
