We have read your request and we are carrying your burden before the Lord with you, for we hear how heavy and painful this season has been. To lose your daughter to suicide and then to walk through homelessness, abuse, family conflict, loss of work and relationships, financial hardship and now this long season of isolation and dependence is more than anyone should have to carry alone. We want you to know that God sees you, He has not forgotten you, and He is near to you even in this very dark and desperate place.
The word of God says in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and in Psalm 61:2, When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. In Psalm 147:3 we are reminded that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. You have spent years trying to rebuild only to have things taken away again, and you are exhausted physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually while caring faithfully for your son. The Lord knows your weariness and He invites you in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He also promises in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might he increases strength.
We understand how painful it is to live with your mother in a complicated relationship where you feel more like a servant than a daughter, and where expressing your exhaustion was met with dismissal. God calls children to honor their parents as in Ephesians 6:2, and He also calls parents not to provoke their children, and He sees the service you are giving daily in that home. Your faithfulness in contributing, caring for the household and caring for your son while your own life feels put on hold does not go unnoticed by Him. At the same time we encourage you to seek wise and godly counsel and community around you, a local Bible believing church family, a pastor or trusted believers who can come alongside you, help you set healthy boundaries, and help you find practical resources for transportation, work, housing and respite care for your son. Isolation makes the burden heavier, and God has placed us in the body of Christ to bear one another's burdens.
We are also lifting up your son before the Lord. We know he has significant needs with autism, a rare genetic disorder affecting his muscles with spasticity, and PANDAS, and that he just had surgery on his Achilles this week. We pray for his healing and recovery, for peace over his body and mind, and for strength for you as his mother who carries so much for him. God loves him deeply and He loves you as his mother. In Philippians 4:19 we are promised that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and in Isaiah 43:19 the Lord says, Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it springs out. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. We believe God is able to make a way where you cannot see one, to open doors for stable finances, for transportation, for work, and for a peaceful home where you and your son can dwell in safety.
We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that name matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. In Romans 10:9 it says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our hope is made secure even when everything around us feels hopeless. In John 3:16 we read, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother and her son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see every tear she has cried over the loss of her daughter, every night of homelessness, every wound from abuse and conflict, every loss of work and relationship, every day of isolation and exhaustion. We ask You to come near to her as the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. Remind her that she is not forgotten, for You have engraved her on the palms of Your hands as in Isaiah 49:16. Give her Your strength when she has very little left, for Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness as in 2 Corinthians 12:9. We ask You to make a way where there seems to be no way, to provide stable finances, reliable transportation, open doors for work, and a peaceful home where she and her son can live and heal. We pray for her son, for complete healing after his Achilles surgery, for his body, his muscles, for relief from spasticity, for help with autism and PANDAS, and for Your hand of protection and peace over him. Provide Lord for every medical and practical need he has. We pray for the relationship with her mother, bring healing where there is pain, bring understanding where there has been dismissal, and give wisdom for boundaries and grace for daily life together. Lift this burden of feeling trapped and give her hope and a future as You promise in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Renew her physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually, and let her feel Your presence and provision day by day. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, Amen.
We encourage you to keep crying out to the Lord honestly as you have done, for He hears. Even when life has felt like one loss after another, His mercies are new every morning as in Lamentations 3:22-23, and He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as in Psalm 46:1. Please reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor or local church and let them walk with you in practical ways, and if you ever feel you might harm yourself or feel you can no longer go on, please reach out immediately to a trusted person, pastor or local help for support. We are continuing to pray that God will remind you daily that He has not forgotten you, that He will sustain you and your son, and that He will lead you step by step out of this trapped place into a place of peace and stability in His will.
