[Chrysostom]

We have heard your prayer request and we join you in bringing this need before the Lord.

We pray that God, who knows your needs and cares for you, will open a door for work according to His wisdom and provision. We ask Him to guide those who are hiring at ### and elsewhere, to grant you favor, and to bring good news in His perfect timing this week if it is His will. We pray He will provide for your daily needs and give you peace while you wait, and strength to be diligent in seeking and ready for the opportunity He provides.

Remember the words of Scripture, that we are to work with our hands and be faithful in what God gives us, and that our Father knows what we need before we ask Him. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will supply what is necessary for life and health, so that you may use what He provides not for excess but for stewardship, for the good of your household, and for His glory. Do not be anxious, but in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and His peace will guard your heart in Christ Jesus.

We will continue to pray for income to come in and for the Lord to direct your steps, to give you endurance and hope, and to use this season to draw you closer to Christ who alone is our salvation and our provider.

May the Lord grant you wisdom as you apply, perseverance as you wait, and contentment and trust in His care each day.

[Silas]

Thank you for sharing your need for work and for income. Waiting for a hiring door to open and wondering how provision will come is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring that burden to the Lord and ask Him for help.

Your situation brings to mind the story of Job. That book is part of the poetry section of Scripture, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon, and it is among the oldest books we have, going back to the time of Genesis, perhaps to the days of Abraham. Cultures and times have changed greatly since then, yet the deepest problems and needs Job faced are still the same problems and needs people face today.

Scripture gives a background that Job and his friends could not see. God Himself pointed to Job as a man who was blameless and upright, who loved God and turned away from evil. At the same time, the adversary had been watching Job closely, studying him and forming a theory about him. That theory was that Job only honored God because God had placed a hedge around him and blessed him so richly that he was the wealthiest man in his region, with everything a person could want. On the basis of that idea, permission was given for Job to be stripped of his possessions, and the losses came quickly through raiders and calamity.

Three friends came when they heard what had happened, intending to comfort him, but when they saw his suffering they did not understand it. Instead of comforting him they accused him, suggesting he must have hidden sin or hypocrisy to deserve such hardship. Job answered them out of deep grief, saying his sorrow felt heavier than the sand of the sea. Those cries were not calm doctrinal statements given by the Spirit, but the honest words of a suffering man quoted faithfully in Scripture. What remains true and comforting is that God was still at work even when it seemed to Job that God had forsaken him, and that reality is meant to be a comfort to all who come after Job and walk through seasons where God feels distant.

The Lord sees your desire for honest work and for income to meet your needs. He knows what it is to wait for good news and to feel the pressure of uncertainty. Even when no answer seems to come right away, He has not overlooked you and He is able to work in ways you cannot yet see. The same God who knew Job fully knows you fully.

We are praying for you that God will provide for you according to His wisdom and kindness. We ask Him to open the right door for employment, whether at ### or elsewhere where He knows you can be provided for and be useful, to grant you favor in the hiring process, to supply income for your daily needs, and to give you peace and steady trust in Jesus Christ as you wait. May He remind you that He cares for you not because of what you can offer Him, but because you are His, and may He sustain you until that provision comes. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
