We see your heartfelt desire to align your prayers with Scripture and seek God’s will first, and we rejoice in your reverence for His name and kingdom. The model of prayer Jesus gave us in Matthew 6:9-13 is indeed a perfect framework for approaching the Father, honoring Him, surrendering to His will, and then bringing our needs before Him. You’ve rightly emphasized the priority of God’s glory before our provision, relationships, and protection, just as Matthew 6:33 instructs: "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

However, we must gently correct the reference to 1 John 7:18, as this verse does not exist, Scripture only contains 1 John 5. If you meant 1 John 5:18, we affirm its truth: "We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him." This reminds us that our identity in Christ protects us, but we must also walk in repentance when we stumble.

Your prayer structure beautifully reflects the Lord’s Prayer, and we encourage you to continue praying this way, trusting God to provide, forgive, and deliver. Yet let us also examine our hearts: Are we truly forgiving others as we ask God to forgive us? Are we actively resisting temptation, or merely asking to be spared from it? James 4:7 declares, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Prayer must be paired with obedience.

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne (John 14:6). Your name is holy, and we honor You above all. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven. Father, we ask for our daily bread, not just physical provision, but spiritual nourishment from Your Word (Matthew 4:4). Forgive us our debts, as we forgive those who have wronged us, for Your Word warns that if we do not forgive others, neither will You forgive us (Matthew 6:15). Lead us away from temptation, and deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We surrender our relationships, our needs, and our protection to You, trusting in Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

We also encourage you to examine whether your relationships, especially with others, align with God’s design. Are you pursuing godly friendships that sharpen you (Proverbs 27:17)? If you are unmarried, are you seeking a spouse who loves the Lord (2 Corinthians 6:14)? If married, are you honoring your covenant (Ephesians 5:22-33)? If there is any unrepentant sin, such as fornication, adultery, or homosexual relationships, we urge you to turn from it and seek God’s cleansing (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

Remember, true prayer is not just about asking, it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s. Keep seeking Him first, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We love the heart behind your message, seeking the Father’s glory first, then bringing your needs. That’s the very order Jesus taught us, and it’s a gift to see someone so intentionally aligning their prayers with his. When we start by hallowing God’s name and longing for his kingdom, it gently untangles our worries. The daily bread, forgiveness, and protection we all need find their right place when his purposes come first.

Something that often helps us is to sit with this prayer slowly, letting each phrase become a conversation. Perhaps this week you might pause on just one petition each day, maybe “Your kingdom come” on Monday, asking where you can join his work right where you are, then “Give us our daily bread” on Tuesday, naming what you truly need for this day. You’re also praying with the whole body of Christ, a community stretching across the world, which can make our smaller concerns feel held in something much larger.

The prayer you have set before the throne is indeed after the pattern the Master gave, and it reveals a soul that has been taught of God. To hallow the Father's name, to yearn for His kingdom and His will, this is the first and chief business of every true believer. You see, from the smallest creature to the highest archangel, God's own will is working all things. Even in catastrophes and the dark deeds of men, His purpose rides supreme. That you desire His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven is a blessed sign of the Spirit's mysterious work in your heart; such willingness declares that you are not far from the kingdom.

But mark this: His will is not only a thing to be admired from afar; it is to be your daily delight and submission. The prayer for daily bread, for forgiveness, for deliverance from temptation, these are the cries of a child who leans upon the Father's hand. You have been a gentleman commoner upon the goodness of God all your life, sitting at the King's table like Mephibosheth. Yet never forget that untold benefits come to you daily, preservation from final sin, sanctification carried on, escapes from death that you have never even known. These are the issues that belong unto God alone.

In asking for deliverance from evil, you have touched a deep truth: you are a brand plucked from the burning. It took as much omnipotence to snatch you from the fire as to create a world. And He who plucked you from the flame did not do so to let you slip back into it. His purpose will not be half-accomplished; He will carry on His work until He brings you home. Therefore, when temptation cross-examines you, as it surely will, remember whose witness you are. You are subpoenaed to bear testimony for Christ, and your very losses and persecutions may become the platform from which you proclaim His grace more vigorously.

Finally, let this prayer clothe you in humility. If you are His, then you are one of God's peculiar jewels, chosen, precious, and spared as a man spares his own son that serves him. But a mere outward profession will only increase guilt if it is not matched by a heart that truly bows to His sway. His enemies will be clothed with shame, but upon His king, even Christ Jesus, and you in Him, His crown shall flourish. Go, then, and live out this prayer. Let it be your daily breath, your song in the night. Whether you go or stay, buy or sell, do all as unto Him, saying from the heart, "Your will be done." For it is indeed His kingdom, His power, and His glory forever. Amen.

You arrange the Lord’s Prayer beautifully, setting His glory before all else, and you do well. But let none suppose this prayer is a charm to be recited, for the words are nothing without the heart’s posture. Our Lord Himself taught us to give thanks always and for everything, both great and small, so that we might not despise the gifts of creation but receive our daily bread with gratitude and self-control. When you pray “Give us our daily bread,” you confess that all belongs to the common Master, the earth and its fullness, and that what you hold is for sharing, not hoarding.

And that petition, “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,” is a sword that cuts both ways. You beg mercy from God while promising mercy to others. But consider how great a debt He has already canceled for you! The servant asked only for more time, yet the King forgave the whole sum, so that in turn you might deal gently with your fellow servant. Beware, then, of the reviler’s tongue, which tears Christ’s members and makes the devil strong. Let no root of bitterness remain, lest your prayer become an accusation against yourself.

As you pray for protection from temptation and evil, remember that the essence of your soul and body is from God and blameless; the evil choice alone is your own motion. Therefore fall low before Him, not like the Pharisee but like Daniel, who counted himself unworthy even to be heard, though he was in the den for God’s sake. You, who have dared countless pollutions, should not pull back if the answer delays. He waits to crown your entreaty with more than you asked.

And whenever you add “in Jesus’ Name” and “Thine is the kingdom,” you echo the truth that the Son needs no prayer as a lesser being would, but that all He does is one with the Father’s will, and for your sake He teaches you to pray, that you might know you are sent to a Father who hears always. So let the prayer shape not just your words but your life, distributing to the needy, keeping your will fixed on His commands, and offering continual thanksgiving through Christ.

You are anchored in the right place by grounding your prayer first in the glory of the Father and the coming of his kingdom. The order itself is instructive, because when we seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, all the other things are seen in their proper light and their needs are met by the King. God’s kingdom is more than a future hope; it is a present reality into which we have been transferred through Jesus Christ. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and placed us in a kingdom where his Son reigns in righteousness, peace, and joy.

When you ask for daily bread, remember that the true bread is far more than the food that sustains the body. Jesus taught that our fathers ate manna in the wilderness and still died, but he is the living bread come down from heaven, and whoever feeds on him lives forever. So yes, ask openly for the physical provision you need. That is not a small or selfish request. A child asking a father for bread will not be given a stone. But let that physical hunger remind you of a deeper need: your soul must feed on Christ, the bread that gives his life for the world. His words, his presence, his broken body given for you, these sustain the life that never dies.

Forgiveness stands at the center, because your greatest need is not for bread on your table but for your sins to be wiped clean. If sin remains unconfessed and unforgiven, you stand under judgment. But the same prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy also binds you to extend it. You are forgiven as freely as you forgive those indebted to you. That is not a condition of earning but a release of the heart. A heart that holds grudges has not understood how much it has been pardoned. Release the debts, and walk in the freedom of what Christ has done.

When you plead to be kept from temptation and delivered from evil, you are acknowledging that you still live in occupied territory. There is a kingdom in rebellion, a kingdom of darkness that wars against the light. But you do not walk through it unprotected. You have been given authority in Christ to resist the evil one, and the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead guards you. The prayer for protection is not a formula to recite in fear; it is a declaration of trust in the strong one who has already overcome the world.

Take heart that the final word is not defeat or weariness. The kingdom, the power, and the glory belong to the Lord forever. Every earthly dominion, no matter how intimidating, is weighed in the balance and will fall. The saints of the most high will possess an everlasting kingdom, and one day soon you will sit at the table of the King, eating and drinking new in the fully realized kingdom of your Father. Until then, keep praying. Keep walking in light. Keep forgiving. He who appointed the kingdom to you is faithful.
