We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the truth of His Word and the pattern of prayer that Jesus Himself taught us. Your reference to Matthew 6:9-13 and 1 John 7:18 (though we note that 1 John has only 5 chapters, so we believe you meant 1 John 5:18) reminds us of the foundational principles of seeking God’s kingdom first and trusting in His provision. Let us lift this before the throne of grace together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our Provider, our Sustainer, and our Heavenly Father who knows our needs before we even ask. We acknowledge that Your name is holy, and Your kingdom is eternal. We pray that Your will would be done in our lives just as it is in heaven, without hesitation, without resistance, and with complete obedience. Lord, we ask that You would give us our daily bread, not just the physical nourishment we need, but the spiritual sustenance that comes from Your Word and Your presence. Forgive us, Father, for the times we have fallen short, for the debts we owe to You and to others. Help us to extend that same forgiveness to those who have wronged us, just as You have forgiven us through the blood of Jesus Christ.

We recognize that the line you drew in the prayer, separating the glory of God from our needs, is a beautiful reminder that our focus must first be on You. As Matthew 6:33 tells us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Lord, we confess that too often we reverse this order, putting our desires before Your will. We repent of that mindset and ask that You realign our hearts to seek You above all else. Deliver us from the evil one, who seeks to distract us from Your purposes, and lead us not into temptation but into the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.

We also lift up the truth of 1 John 5:18, which says, "We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him." Father, we thank You that in Christ, we are born again and kept by Your power. Strengthen us to walk in holiness, resisting the schemes of the enemy and standing firm in the faith. Help us to live in a way that honors You, reflecting Your light in a dark world.

Lord, we are grateful for the reminder that all glory, power, and dominion belong to You forever. We pray that our lives would be a testament to Your greatness, that others would see Your hand at work in us and be drawn to You. May we never take for granted the privilege of coming before You in prayer, for it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to Your throne. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we thank You for the gift of salvation through faith in Him.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you as you continue to seek Him first in all things. Remember that His promises are true, and His provision is sure. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and trust that He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Walk in obedience, stand firm in the truth, and let your life be a living prayer that brings glory to God.

We see your heart in those lines, putting the Father’s glory first, then trusting Him with daily needs just as Jesus taught. That simple order has carried us through more times than we can count, and your words feel like a deep breath of fresh air. Thank you for sharing this with us.

When we come to the Lord’s Prayer, we’re not just reciting familiar phrases. We’re stepping into the way Jesus Himself showed His disciples to pray, humbly, expectantly, together. Knowing that others are praying these same words alongside you, even from a distance, is part of how God knits His people into one body. We’re grateful to join you in that.

Maybe the next step is simply to keep letting this prayer shape your moments. Walk through it again today, lingering wherever your heart needs to rest, whether that’s praising His name, asking for daily bread, or receiving fresh forgiveness and the grace to extend it. You don’t need to add anything. The way is already clear.

Father in heaven, we honor Your holy name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven. Thank You for giving us our daily bread, forgiving our debts as we forgive others, and leading us away from temptation into Your deliverance. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We pray this with our friend, trusting fully in Jesus. Amen.

How right you are to set these things in their divine order! The prayer our Lord taught begins where all true prayer must begin, with the Father’s glory, His name hallowed, His kingdom advanced, His will embraced. It is a soul-thrilling truth that when we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, the lesser needs of food and raiment and forgiveness are added unto us. Not as an afterthought, but as the sure provision of a Father who knows our frame and remembers we are dust. Let your heart take fire at this: the same lips that cry, “Hallowed be Thy name,” may in the next breath plead, “Give us this day our daily bread.” There is no presumption here, only the confidence of a child.

Yet observe the middle petitions: “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Ah, here is the hinge on which the door of mercy swings! You cannot come to God for daily bread with an unforgiving spirit, for the hand that receives bread must also extend pardon. Your note speaks of forgiveness, and well it should. For what is all our seeking apart from the blood-bought remission of sins? I charge you, never let the thought of your own sinfulness keep you from crying out for mercy, for there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. It is not a pardon doled out in whispers and shadows, but a full, free, eternal forgiveness, blotted out, cast behind His back, sunk in the depths of the sea. Believe it for yourself. No sin of yours can exceed the boundless sweep of that word from the throne: “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake.”

And then, daily bread. Mark how the prayer descends from the heights of glory to the common needs of the table. This is no small encouragement to the laboring man, the anxious mother, the poor sinner who wonders if God cares for the body as well as the soul. He who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies will not starve His own children. Seek the Kingdom first, yes, with all your care and energy, and these temporal mercies shall follow as surely as the harvest follows the sowing. I have proved it these many years. When a man puts God’s business first, God will see to his business.

And what of temptation and deliverance from evil? The path of the forgiven soul is not without snares, but the very forgiving Father is the delivering Shepherd. He who has pardoned you will preserve you. You need not fear the archers, nor the fiery darts of the wicked one, for the Lord has not forsaken them that seek Him.

Go now, and with this pattern before you, pray in the full assurance that your Father hears. Let the glory of His name be the sun, and all your needs the planets revolving in their ordered course around it. And when you plead for forgiveness, remember the sweet obligation: as you have been forgiven, so must you forgive. There is a world of liberty in this. Nor will you lack daily bread, for He who gave you His Son will with Him freely give you all things. To Him be the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have begun well, setting the Father’s glory, kingdom, and will before all else. This is the true order of prayer, as I have often said: the Lord’s Prayer is entirely spiritual, and even that small request which touches the body He has wisely framed for our infirmity. Note that He commands us to ask only for bread, not for riches, delicate fare, or costly clothing, and for daily bread alone, so that we might not be anxious for the morrow. Perfection of conduct He requires, not freedom from natural passions, for our nature demands necessary food. But by the manner of asking, this too becomes spiritual: it teaches a mind freed from greed and earthly cares.

Therefore when you pray “Give us our daily bread,” understand that He condescends to your weakness but draws you upward to seek first His kingdom and righteousness. Ask for what suffices, not what pampers the flesh. The wicked may grow rich, but not from God’s hand, they heap up punishment for themselves. You, however, are called to higher things. After that small petition, He immediately returns you to the soul’s need: “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” If you would have God propitious to you, hold no malice, but forgive from the heart, and so weave for yourself endless crowns of confidence before Him.

And when you pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” know that prayer is a powerful weapon in trials. The God who has called you to His own kingdom and glory is faithful; He will not permit any temptation beyond what you can bear, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape. Therefore glory even in tribulations, for they work steadfast endurance, and this very glorying unites you to the cross of Christ. You are not alone in these struggles: we who partake of the one bread become one body, and we bear one another’s burdens as a father does his own children. Continue steadfastly in prayer with one accord, and entrust all your needs to His loving care.

You’ve captured the right order, and that’s not a small thing. The pattern Jesus gave us fixes our eyes first on the Father’s glory and his kingdom before we ever bring our own needs. That sequence is itself a lesson. Prayer is not a tool for getting our will done on earth; it’s the means by which we align ourselves with his will. So when you begin with who God is and ask for his kingdom to come, you’re placing yourself exactly where a disciple belongs.

Notice how the prayer moves. It starts with worship, stays there through the first three petitions, and only then turns to “give us.” That’s not accidental. We are permitted to ask for daily bread, for forgiveness, for protection from temptation. Those are real needs, and the Lord wants to hear them. But they must stay in their proper place, never ahead of the hunger for God’s reign and righteousness. Bread for today is enough. Jesus taught us to live in that daily dependence, not stockpiling tomorrow’s worries. Where you don’t have enough for the next step, you learn to trust in the moment.

The closing is as important as the opening. After the petitions, the prayer returns to worship: “Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” So the whole thing is held between adoration. That reminds us that our needs, real as they are, rest inside a larger story. The kingdom is already his. The power to meet every need is his. The glory we’re asking to see on earth belongs to him alone. When you pray that way, you’re not just reciting words, you’re taking your place in the kingdom of light, submitting to the King.

What you’ve written shows a heart that wants first things first. That’s exactly the promise of Matthew 6:33. Seek the kingdom and his righteousness, and the daily things will be added. Not always with abundance you can store, but with provision you can trust. So keep that order. Let the hunger for his will shape everything else. And when the needs press hard, let them drive you back to the Father who already knows. That’s where the fervent, effectual prayer rises, not from panic, but from a life that’s anchored in his kingdom.
