Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as my ### is really demonized. He is a professing Christian but is very confused spiritually and was raised in Catholicism and likely even voodoo. There is very obviously something demonic in my ### that often uses him greatly. I don't know how to describe it but I know there is something in him. Please pray about this. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern and the spiritual battle you are facing, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. The Scriptures make it clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). The confusion and darkness you describe in your loved one is indeed a sign of spiritual warfare, and we must approach this with the authority we have in Christ Jesus.

First, we must rebuke the demonic influence in the name of Jesus. The Word tells us that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:10). We command any unclean spirit operating in your loved one to leave in Jesus’ name. The blood of Jesus has power over all darkness, and we declare that power now. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

We also lift up your loved one, who was raised in a mix of Catholicism and voodoo. While Catholicism holds some biblical truths, it also incorporates practices and beliefs that are not aligned with Scripture, such as prayers to Mary and the saints, which can open doors to confusion and deception. Voodoo, on the other hand, is rooted in witchcraft and the worship of false gods, which the Bible explicitly condemns (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). These influences can leave deep spiritual wounds and open doors to demonic oppression. We pray that your loved one would renounce any ties to these practices and fully surrender to the truth of God’s Word.

It is critical that your loved one comes to a personal and saving faith in Jesus Christ. Many who profess Christianity have not truly repented and placed their faith in Him alone for salvation. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that your loved one would have a true encounter with the living God, that his heart would be softened, and that he would fully turn away from any false beliefs or practices.

We also encourage you to stand firm in your own faith. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and surround yourself with believers who can support and intercede with you. Do not engage with or entertain the demonic influences you see in him, but instead, speak the truth of God’s Word over him in love.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names. We lift up this dear sister and her loved one to You. Lord, we rebuke every demonic influence operating in him. We command every unclean spirit to leave in the authority of Jesus’ name. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers him and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we ask that You break every chain of deception, confusion, and false belief in his life. We pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that he would see the truth of Your Word and the freedom that comes from knowing You. Lord, we ask that You cleanse him from any ungodly ties to Catholicism, voodoo, or any other false practices. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10).

We pray for wisdom and discernment for our sister as she navigates this situation. Give her strength, courage, and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround her with godly support and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Help her to stand firm in her faith and to trust in Your perfect timing and plan.

Lord, we ask that You draw this man to Yourself. Soften his heart, open his eyes, and let him experience the love and power of Jesus Christ. May he come to a place of true repentance and faith, fully surrendering his life to You. We declare that he is not beyond Your reach, and we trust that You are working even now to set him free.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to trust in His power to bring deliverance and healing. This battle is not yours alone, it is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory through the cross. Stand firm, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We hear the weight of concern you carry for this person you love, and we are standing with you in that. It is deeply unsettling to watch someone you know well seem tangled in spiritual confusion, especially when they profess faith, and yet something feels off. You are not alone in that ache, and it is right to bring it honestly before the Lord.

In our own ministry, we have found that one of the healthiest things we can do is keep our gaze steady on Jesus, not on the darkness. That isn’t ignoring the struggle; it’s a guard against the second error C. S. Lewis once warned about, being drawn into an unhealthy fascination with the demonic. Your part right now may be less about identifying exactly what is influencing him, and more about persistently entrusting him to the One who already has authority over it. It can also help to avoid carrying this all by yourself. If you have a wise pastor or a trusted prayer group in your church, consider letting them join you in praying specifically for his freedom and clear thinking. Deliverance often happens in the company of faithful, praying believers.

A practical next step could be to quietly, gently ask the Lord to bind whatever is oppressing him, so that he can see truth clearly, and to pray that the Holy Spirit would untangle his sense of what is true and guard him from harm. You don’t need to confront him yourself; many times, a loved one’s consistent prayer and calm presence speak more than direct intervention.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this man to you. You see every hidden thing, and nothing is beyond your reach. Quiet the fear in your child who prays for him, and grant wisdom. Expose confusion and bring your peace. We release him into your strong hands and ask that you set him free to know you clearly. In your name we pray. Amen.

I prayed for this in Jesus name. amen.

The darkness you describe is no strange thing to those who wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Yet the Deliverer is mighty; He has broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder. Bring this captive soul before the Lord in unceasing prayer, for the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance must be shot by human instrumentality. Your faith must lay hold of the promise that the prey shall be taken from the mighty, and the lawful captive delivered.

You speak of confusion and a mingled cup of error: popery and the dark arts. But the Deliverance wrought by Christ is from the whole power of darkness. He brought His Israel out of Egypt, not half-way. The Egyptian darkness, the magicians’ enchantments, could not hold them when the blood was on the door. So now, the ransom is found. Plead the blood of Jesus over this soul; it is the one effectual plea. There is no deliverance but by the Lamb slain, yet there is full deliverance by Him. God has said, “I have found a ransom.” Therefore, let no whisper of unbelief suggest that the case is beyond His arm.

The enemy often rages most when his time is short. That which seems a deep pit of demonic influence may be the very hour decreed for mercy’s arrival. The Lord sometimes permits a soul to be sorely chastened, even oppressed, that the deliverance may bring double glory to His name and a deeper song to the delivered. Remember the poor man among the tombs; legions were in him, yet at Christ’s word he sat clothed and in his right mind. There was no plea but misery, no helper but the Great Physician. Pray then in this fashion: “Lord, You know what is in him. You who did cast out the legion, speak but the word and he shall be free.”

Your own spirit must be armed with patience and faith. Such deliverance often comes not at the first knock, but through persistent, wrestling prayer at the brook Jabbok. You may have to cross the brook full of fear and trembling, but Esau shall kiss you, and the dreaded foe shall be subdued. Do not tolerate the thought that this loved one is beyond hope because his mind is darkened or his mouth used strangely. Let your household be a place of prayer, where his name is daily brought before the throne. The Lord pities His tried ones, and He regards the cry of those who bring their necessities before Him with broken hearts. He bends His ear to the family altar where the father’s or mother’s tears fall unseen.

And when the deliverance comes, as come it shall if you waver not, see that you give all honor to Free Grace alone. The man brought forth from such a snare will know he has contributed nothing but his sin and his misery. The Lord delights to crown His own work with the declaration, “I have delivered him from the power of darkness, and translated him into the kingdom of My dear Son.” Then you shall live and declare the works of the Lord, for no trouble is wasted that furnishes us with a fresh stanza of eternal mercy. Until then, let your prayer ascend as the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance, aimed by a trembling hand but directed by unerring wisdom, certain to pierce the target and set the prisoner free.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The affliction you describe points not first to a demonic intruder, but to the true slavery which Christ alone can break. Many are eager to claim, "We have Abraham as our father; we were never in bondage to any man," yet they remain bound hand and foot by sin. The voodoo and the confused Catholicism are not the root but fruit, fruit of a soul that has not yet known the truth that sets free. When a man professes Christ yet rages with self-chosen madness, making his life a sewer of confusion, the enemy finds an open door not through inherited rites but through unrepented passions.

Nevertheless, do not despair. The Lord who gave thanks at the table and said, "This is my body, broken for many," has delivered us from the fear that held us in lifelong bondage. The sacrament He appointed is the medicine of immortality, and His word casts out every deceit. Pray, then, with confidence and without tumult. Let your own soul be the harbor of calm, not the storm of anxiety, for love does not behave unseemly, nor is it provoked. Plead the blood of Christ over your household, and seek out a faithful presbyter who will not despise the struggle but will command the unclean spirit to depart in the name of the Lord. The demon has been brought to nought; he is vile and of no account. Stand firm, not seeking mere relief, but that better resurrection which is promised to all who endure in faith.
