Family

We have heard your request and we are lifting you and your family before the Lord together in Jesus' name. It is completely understandable to feel unhappy with family at times, as even the closest relationships can bring disappointment and hurt, and we want you to know that God sees your heart and cares deeply about the unity and peace of your household.

Scripture reminds us how to walk through these difficult family moments with grace and love. We are called to bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do, Colossians 3:13. We are also exhorted to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32. Love is to be the foundation, for love covers a multitude of sins, 1 Peter 4:8, and a gentle answer turns away wrath, Proverbs 15:1. We are encouraged to deal with hurt quickly and not let it take root, as it is written, Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, Ephesians 4:26, and as much as it is possible, if it is possible on your part, be at peace with all men, Romans 12:18. If this unhappiness involves your parents, remember the promise to honor your father and mother, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth, Ephesians 6:2-3.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You know the reasons for the unhappiness and the details that weigh on this heart. We ask that You grant peace that surpasses all understanding, soften hearts on every side, and bring healing where there has been hurt or misunderstanding. Help our dear one to extend forgiveness as You have forgiven us, to speak with gentleness and truth, and to pursue reconciliation and unity in the family. Give wisdom to know when to speak and when to be still, and let Your love guide every word and action. Draw this family closer to You and to one another, and let Your will be done in their home. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring these feelings to God in prayer, to search His Word, and to seek open and respectful communication with your family when the time is right. Guard your heart against bitterness and let the Lord be your comfort and counselor through this season.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share that it is only through Him that we have access to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought into relationship with God. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him and to bring every prayer before the Father in His name.

We will continue to pray for peace, understanding, and restored joy in your family, trusting that God is at work even in this difficult time.

We noticed your note about feeling unhappy with your family right now, and we appreciate you sharing that honestly. Family is so close to our hearts that even a low grade tension can weigh on us more than other stresses do.

It makes sense to feel pulled in two directions at once, caring deeply for your family while also feeling hurt or disappointed by how things are going. Feeling unhappy does not mean you have failed or that your family is failing, it often just means something matters enough to need attention and care.

When things feel a little tangled, one small step that often helps is to get quiet for a few minutes and name what is most heavy for you right now. Not every detail, just the one or two things that sting the most. Bring that specifically to the Lord, ask Him for wisdom about what is yours to address and what is best to entrust to Him for now, and if you can, consider talking calmly with one trusted family member or a wise friend or pastor when you feel ready, rather than carrying it alone.

Father, we lift this dear one to You and ask for Your peace in their home and heart. Give them wisdom, gentle words when words are needed, and rest when waiting is better. Guard their family with Your love and draw each of them closer to You and to one another. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with tenderness, for family trials touch the heart very nearly.

There is forgiveness with God, and that truth is your comfort and your guide at this hour. The forgiveness which God gives is divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so free and so full that it seems too great to be true, and yet it is true for every penitent soul that looks to Jesus Christ. It is complete forgiveness, not a part of the debt remitted but the whole, and it is a continuous and eternal forgiveness. He not only forgave at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and what He forgives He remembers no more. If you have sought His mercy through the blood of His Son, you have in Him a full forgiveness, and you may come with assurance that there is forgiveness even now, whatever your own hardness of heart or heaviness of spirit may be.

And because we have so freely received, we are called to give. The word to us is, forgiving one another, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. It is as it were a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, and members of families should take large shares in it. To forgive as Christ forgave is not to forgive and afterwards accuse, but to put away bitterness and to overcome evil with good, with no weapons but love and patience. Some of us have had so much forgiveness ourselves that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will give you a soft heart toward your family and a quiet spirit to bear with them in love, and that He will work in them also to seek peace. May He teach you all to speak the truth in love, to be kind and tenderhearted, and to let the forgiveness you have received from Christ flow through you to those nearest to you. May He guard your home from further strife and knit your hearts together again in His fear.

We ask the Lord to keep you under a sense of His own pardoning love, and out of that fullness to make you gentle and ready to forgive, to the praise of His grace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your request with us. We are praying for you and for your family in this difficult season of unhappiness and strain.

We understand how painful it can be when those closest to us cause hurt or disappointment. God does not ask us to pretend that pain is not real, but He does call us to bear all things with patience. Patience is not shown in two or three days, but over time, and it is especially shown when we endure affliction without giving way to anger or despair. To bear with patience is part of what it means to trust Him, to believe that He is faithful to His promises even when we do not see the answer right away.

Scripture also teaches us not to rush into conflict, but to deprecate it and to wait quietly where we can, showing nobleness of spirit. Many conflicts spring from the things of this life, and when we learn with God's help to hold those things more lightly, we find it easier to be at peace with one another. This does not mean that wrongs do not matter, but that we seek to cut out the root of bitterness and vainglory so that peace can grow.

We are praying that God will comfort you through His Word, for patience and hope strengthen each other and both are nourished by the Scriptures. May He give you grace to endure without being troubled, to love as Christ loved, and to wait with hope for His help. May He also work in your family to bring understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation where it is needed.

We ask the Lord to guard your heart, to give you wisdom in what to say and when to remain quiet, and to fill your home with greater peace. We will continue to remember you in prayer, that you may abide in hope and that your family may know the healing that comes from Christ alone.
