Thank you for sharing this honestly and for asking for prayer for wisdom. Wanting to make things right with others is a good desire, and wanting to be sure it is the Lord leading you and not just your own heart is even better. I am praying that God will give you clear eyes to see what He is doing and a settled peace about the next step.

Part of seeking clarity is asking whether this is the Spirit leading or the flesh pulling. Scripture calls us to walk according to the Spirit and to make no provision for the desires of the flesh, because even incomplete obedience can open a door that later brings harm to our walk. So bring this discomfort before the Lord and ask Him to search your motives. Is this reconciliation about obedience, humility, and love for Christ, or is there pressure, guilt, or a desire to return to old patterns that did not honor Him. God wants wholehearted obedience, not a divided heart.

It helps to remember how God works providentially. He was with Joseph in the pit and in the prison long before He placed him in a position to preserve many lives. You cannot judge the story of your life until you have read the final chapter. Often God works over years, placing people and preparing hearts well in advance of the moment they are needed. He may have brought you to this point for such a time as this, and He is able to use your willingness to do good. At the same time His purposes will stand whether or not we obey, so our call is to be faithful where He has placed us and trust Him with the outcome.

That is why you can rest even while you feel uncomfortable. If you are His child, no weapon formed against you will prosper. That is the heritage of those who belong to Him. He watches over His own, and even when others intend evil, He is able to reverse it and turn sorrow into joy, just as He did for Joseph and most clearly through the cross of Jesus. He can turn what was meant for harm into good for His glory and for your growth.

He also leads those who trust Him even when the path is unfamiliar. He promises to lead the blind by a way they have not known and to guide them on paths they have not seen. Ask Him for that kind of leading. Seek Him first in His Word and in prayer, listen for the counsel of Scripture, and test every open door by whether it helps you live set apart for Him. We are called to come out from what is unclean and to not be bound together with those who would pull us away from righteousness, not because we are to be harsh, but because light and darkness have no true fellowship. If reentering these relationships would yoke you again to unbelief or to a way of life you left behind, that discomfort may be a gracious warning to proceed with great caution and boundaries. If it is a work of genuine peacemaking and forgiveness that honors Christ, He will enlarge your heart and give you freedom in it.

I am praying that the Lord will make His will unmistakable to you, that He will quiet what is of the flesh and confirm what is of the Spirit, that He will guard you from any harm and use even this uneasy season to draw you closer to Jesus. May He give you wisdom to know whether to step forward, to wait, or to set a loving boundary, and may He turn whatever has been painful in the past into testimony of His keeping power and care.
