Beloved of All
Your cry for your family has been heard, and we join you in lifting your household before the throne of grace where our Lord hears the cries of His children. We feel the weight of what you carry, the isolation and disrespect shown to you and your son, the division and exhaustion that has entered your home, and the deep ache of a mother who sees her children pulled in different directions.
Scripture teaches that division is destructive by its very nature. What is whole within itself is broken when it is divided, and the original unity is lost. This is the work of the enemy. Where there are divisions and offenses contrary to sound doctrine, we are taught to mark those who cause them and to turn away from their influence, for such ways serve not Christ but selfish desires and deceive simple hearts. We pray with you that every plan to divide, isolate, and bring chaos and mocking into your home would be frustrated, and that the God of peace would soon crush every work of darkness under your feet.
We stand with you in what you have rightly discerned about your older daughter. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in the eyes of God, and it does not honor Him. It opens the door to spiritual bondage, deception, and harm, as you have seen in the financial hardship, worthlessness, mood swings, exhaustion, and isolation that have followed her. We do not ask God to bless that arrangement, for He cannot bless what He calls us to turn from. Instead we ask Him to open her eyes to the truth of His Word, to show her the red flags she has been blinded to, and to break the stubborn hold this young man and his mother have upon her. We pray that she would see that she does not belong to this man, that she is not responsible to carry him, and that she belongs to the Lord. We pray that pride, shame, and pressure would be removed from her heart and replaced with a hunger for righteousness, and that she would be given courage to step away from this toxic and selfish relationship and return to the safety, stability, and love of home, not with regret but with freedom, joy, and peace. We pray for her health, for her breathing, for her finances and credit and reputation, and for her future, that nothing done in this season would destroy what she has worked to build.
We lift up your younger daughter as you have asked. We pray she would remain steadfast and not be swayed by an ungodly example. May the Lord protect the sweet bond she has with her sister and brother, guard her heart from divisive tactics, and surround her with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage her in the Lord. May she never see living together outside of marriage as acceptable, but may she desire a spouse who honors God and the covenant of marriage as Christ loves the church. We pray she would walk in respect and gratefulness toward you and in love toward her brother.
We lift up your son. He is not a burden or an embarrassment. He is a blessing, fearfully and wonderfully made, and a beloved child of God. We ask the Lord to surround him with love and acceptance, to saturate him with peace, and to command every word curse, mockery, hatred, and spiritual attack to flee and never return. The blood of Jesus has already overcome every power of darkness, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. We pray his relationships with you, his sisters, caregivers, and extended family would be strengthened, and that every influence that looks down on him would be removed and replaced with those who cherish him.
We also pray for you. Walk carefully and wisely in these evil days, redeeming the time. Give no unnecessary handle for hatred except the claim of the gospel itself. Show deference where you can without compromising godliness, but stand firm where Christ calls you to stand. Be a pattern to your daughters of modesty and faith, for children often form their ways according to the example set before them. Keep your home as a sanctuary of His presence, a small household governed well, where love, unity, and peace reign.
Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over this mother, her son, and her daughters. We ask for complete restoration, respect, gratefulness, and fellowship. Let every generational curse, word curse, and work of witchcraft and manipulation be broken in the name of Jesus. Let the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds. Heal what has been wounded, mend what has been torn, and restore what has been lost. Provide for their financial needs according to Your riches, not for selfish gain but that they may be a blessing to others. Lead this family out of confusion and into clarity, out of isolation and into fellowship, out of bondage and into sonship through Jesus Christ, who alone delivers us from the curse and brings us into adoption as sons and daughters. May faith make each one whole.
