Beloved of All
Your prayer before the throne of grace has been heard, and we join you in lifting your family to the Lord who hears the cries of His children. We hear the heaviness you carry for your son and for both of your daughters, and the pain of isolation, disrespect, division and confusion that has pressed upon your home in these past weeks. The Lord sees what is done in secret and what is openly hurtful, and He is not distant from your sorrow.
Scripture warns that division is one of the enemy's chief weapons, for that which is divided loses its strength and its wholeness. Such divisions do not come from a difference in the true faith, but from human contentiousness and from those who serve their own desires rather than Christ. For this reason we are told to mark those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to sound doctrine and to avoid their influence, for by good words and fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the simple. We pray that the God of peace will bruise the power of the enemy under your feet and guard your household from every scheme to isolate and destroy. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His design, for living together outside of marriage is not marriage and does not honor Him, and Scripture teaches that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy belongs within it. To remain in such a way opens the door to bondage and deception, and true love cannot be built upon it.
We pray for your older daughter, that the Lord will open her eyes to see clearly. May she see the financial hardship, the exhaustion, the mood swings and the sense of worthlessness this relationship has brought, and may she no longer defend what is harming her or present a false image of it to others. As Moses when he was come to years refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season, so we pray she will esteem the reproach of Christ and the safety of a godly home greater riches than what this house offers. May every stubborn hold be broken, and may pride, shame and pressure be replaced with a hunger for righteousness and a desire to return to stability, safety and wisdom. We pray that she will remember that she belongs not to any man who would control and degrade her, but to the Lord who bought her with His blood, and that her faith will make her whole as she turns to Him with courage. We ask that the Lord frustrate every plan to keep her bound, protect her health, including her breathing which is harmed by smoking in that home, and guard her finances, her reputation and her future. We pray He will guide her swiftly to freedom, joy and peace, with no regret but with thankfulness for deliverance.
We pray also for your younger daughter, that she will remain steadfast and not be lured to follow an ungodly example. Young hearts often form their manners according to what they see, and therefore we pray she will be surrounded by godly friendships and mentors who encourage her in the ways of the Lord. May she cherish the sweet bond with her brother and sister, and may she never see living together outside of marriage as an acceptable path, but instead desire in due time a spouse who honors Christ and values the sanctity of marriage. We pray she will walk in respect and gratefulness toward you and in kindness toward her brother.
We lift up your son to the Lord. He is not a burden or an embarrassment, but a blessing, made in the image of God and worthy of love, acceptance and protection. We ask the Lord to surround him with those who will uplift and cherish him, and to remove any influence that would mock, isolate or speak curses over him. May the peace of God guard his heart and mind, and may his relationship with you, his sisters, caregivers and extended family be strengthened. We ask that every word spoken to demean him would fall to the ground powerless, for the blood of Jesus has overcome every power of darkness.
For you, we pray for wisdom to walk carefully as wise and not as unwise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. You are as sheep in the midst of wolves, called to be harmless as doves, giving no handle for hatred except for the sake of the Gospel, showing deference and obedience where you can without compromising godliness. The Lord calls those who lead a household to do so with sobriety and good behavior, having children in subjection with all gravity, for the home is like a small household of faith. Be a pattern of modesty and of the true ornament of the soul, which is good works and a life lived to His glory. Continue to adorn your home with prayer, with the Word, and with steady love, even while you set firm boundaries against what is harmful.
Father in heaven, we come through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We plead the blood of Jesus over this mother, her son and her daughters. We ask for Your divine protection over their home, that it would be a sanctuary of Your presence where love, unity and peace reign. Break every generational pattern of sin, every word curse and every influence of witchcraft and manipulation, and let it flee in the name of Jesus. Heal what has been wounded, mend what has been torn, and restore fellowship, respect and gratefulness where there has been chaos, gossip and mocking. Provide for their financial needs according to Your riches, not for selfish gain but that they may be a testimony of Your provision. Lead the older daughter out of this toxic and ungodly living arrangement and bring her home to safety. Keep the younger daughter from deception, protect the son from all harm, and give this mother strength, courage and peace as You fight this battle. Turn hearts back to You and to one another, as You promised to turn the hearts of parents to children and children to parents. Guard this family and make them a beacon of Your light.
