Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for my ex to come to faith in Christ. Pray for his health especially amidst serious and life-threatening health problems. Pray for his healing from trauma and emotional/behavioral issues. Pray for God to give him a wake up call to stop behaving in dysfunctional ways. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing your ex before the Lord and we are moved by your compassion for him even though your relationship has ended. It is Christlike to pray for those who have been close to us, especially when they are in serious need, and we count it a privilege to seek God's will together with you in Jesus' name.

We agree with you that his greatest need is salvation through faith in Christ. Scripture assures us of God's heart in this, for God our Savior desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We pray that even in the midst of life threatening health problems the Lord would use this trial as a mercy to open his eyes to his need for Jesus, who said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6.

We also lift up his physical health and his deep inner wounds. The Lord is the one who heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3, and who promises For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We ask God to show mercy on his body according to His perfect will and to bring healing where healing will bring glory to Him and draw this man closer to repentance. We pray too for his trauma and emotional and behavioral struggles. Dysfunctional and sinful patterns of behavior separate us from God and harm ourselves and others, and they must be called what they are and brought into the light. We pray that God would give him a new heart, as He promises I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh, Ezekiel 36:26. We pray for a true wake up call that leads not just to behavior modification but to transformation, for Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God, Romans 12:2. We ask that the Lord would lovingly discipline and convict him, for whom the Lord loves, he chastens, and that this conviction would lead to godly sorrow and repentance.

We encourage you as you continue to pray to guard your own heart and to trust the Lord's wisdom for your future. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, and any courtship should be with the goal of a Christ centered marriage to a fellow believer. While we pray earnestly for your ex's salvation and healing, we encourage you to seek God's will for your own path and not to pursue restoration of a romantic relationship unless God first does a clear and lasting work of salvation and transformation in him and leads you both toward a godly marriage. Keep your boundaries biblical and loving, continue to forgive as Christ forgave us, and entrust this man fully to the Lord's hands.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we lift this man to You. Lord, have mercy on him in his serious health struggles and spare his life if it be Your will, that he may have opportunity to know You. Heal his body according to Your wisdom and heal his broken heart and mind from trauma. Break the chains of dysfunctional and sinful behavior and grant him deep conviction and repentance. Give him a new heart and a new spirit, turn his stony heart to flesh, and draw him to place his faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins and for eternal life. We pray You would make Yourself known to him in a powerful wake up call that he cannot ignore, and that he would be transformed by Your truth. Comfort and strengthen the one who prays for him, give her wisdom, peace, and trust in Your perfect plan, and help her to walk in holiness and hope. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear the love and concern you still carry for him, even though you are no longer together. It is a tender thing to bring an ex before the Lord, especially when you know he is facing serious health struggles and deep hurts underneath his behaviors.

Watching someone battle a long or life threatening illness is heavy in every way. It can wear down not just the body but a person's sense of strength and hope, and it often affects everyone who cares about them too. Trauma and long standing patterns do not change quickly either, and it makes sense you would ask God for a clear wake up call and for real healing.

One thing that can help as you keep praying is to give that burden a steady place rather than carrying it all day. You might set aside a short, regular time to lift him by name to the Lord for salvation, for wisdom for his doctors and for openness to healthy support, and then entrust him to God between those times. If you do have appropriate contact, you can gently encourage him to stay closely connected to his medical care alongside prayer, but you do not have to carry the responsibility for his choices.

We are praying with you and we will keep holding him before the Lord with you.

Father, we lift this man to You in Jesus name. We ask for Your mercy on his health and for guidance for those caring for him. Draw him to Yourself, bring healing to his wounds and clarity where there has been confusion, and lead him toward wholeness in Your way. Give our friend peace as she trusts him to Your hands. Amen.

Your burden has been brought before the Lord with care and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace. We will pray for this man as you have asked, that God in His great mercy would do a work which only grace can do.

We pray first and chiefly for his salvation, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved but the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that the Lord would grant him that repentance which is unto life, not a carnal repentance wrought by fear or judgment alone, but that holy and healthy repentance which is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory, for it confesses sin without excuse, looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, and trusts alone in His finished work upon the cross. We pray that God would grant him such a repentance, with faith inseparable from it, that he may look unto Christ and be saved, for whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.

We pray also for his health in this time of serious and life threatening affliction. We know that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations and that the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. Christ heals the soul by pardon and He holds the body in His hands. We ask the Lord, if it be His will, to lay His healing hand upon this man, to spare his life, to restore him, and above all to use this affliction as a voice that awakens the conscience. We do not ask merely for a wake up call that reforms outward behavior for a season, but for that inward change which makes the nature other than it was before, so that he may turn from dysfunctional and sinful ways because he has been given a new heart that loves holiness.

We pray for his healing from trauma and from those deep wounds which have borne bitter fruit in emotional and behavioral trouble. May the Lord who pardons also heal, for pardon and healing are one in Christ. May He purge the fountain and sweeten the streams of his life, bringing not only relief but renewal.

We pray that whatever God does, He will do it for His own glory and for this man's eternal good, leading him to trust not in his own repentance or his own faith, but in Christ alone. And we pray for you, that you may be kept in peace as you commit this soul to Him who is mighty to save, resting in the confidence that salvation is of the Lord from first to last.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for bringing this burden to us and allowing us to pray with you. We join you in lifting your ex before the Lord, and we hear your love and concern for him even as you are no longer together.

We pray first for his salvation, that God in His longsuffering and mercy would draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Scripture teaches that the death of Jesus is the salvation of the world and that by one sacrifice He has perfected forever those who are sanctified. There is no other name by which we are saved, and we ask that your ex would come to know Christ truly, turning from sin and receiving forgiveness and new life through Him.

We also pray for his health in the midst of these serious and life threatening problems. As Christ showed His power by healing disease at once and restoring perfect health, we ask God to be merciful to this man in his body, to give wisdom to those caring for him, and to use even this affliction to open his eyes to his need for the Lord. We pray for healing from trauma and for the emotional and behavioral struggles you mention, that God who is the physician of souls would apply His healing treatment, deliver him from what harms him, and restore him to soundness.

We pray as you asked for a wake up call, that God would grant him repentance and an excellent change. The Lord is patient, not wanting any to be swept away but offering salvation that comes by repentance. We ask that He would convict him of dysfunctional ways, give him clarity to see them, and give him strength to turn from them and walk in what is good and whole. We do not ask God to affirm or bless what is outside His design, but to lead this man into truth and holiness.

We will continue to pray for you as well, for peace and strength as you entrust this person to God. Do not grow weary in prayer. Sometimes the fruit comes not after one hearing but after many, as God works patiently through repeated calls. Keep bringing him before the throne of grace, trusting that God hears and that He desires all to come to repentance.

May the Lord grant your ex life, health according to His will, and above all the everlasting blessing of knowing Christ, and may He guard you in His grace.
