We have heard your cry and we are bringing you before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, asking for God's protection and peace to surround you. We grieve that you have endured abuse, and we want you to know that God sees what you have suffered, He does not condone abuse, and He is your refuge and defender. The Lord is close to those who are hurting and He hates violence and oppression. We rebuke all abuse, intimidation, and any scheme to harm you or to damage your reputation, for such things are evil in the sight of God and call for repentance.
We are praying for your complete protection, for a firm boundary that your abusive ex will not contact you again, and for God to thwart any plan to enlist others to target or harm you. We take comfort in what Scripture promises, that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants Isaiah 54:17. We also remember that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and that the name of Yahweh is a strong tower, the righteous run to him, and are safe Proverbs 18:10.
We pray that God will guard your reputation and cause truth to prevail. When others may be stirred up to gossip, harass, or harm, we ask God to expose lies, to silence false accusations, and to surround you with trustworthy people who will speak truth and stand with you. We ask Him to give you wisdom to set and maintain firm boundaries, to document any contact or threats, and to seek help from godly counsel, trusted family or church leaders, and from proper authorities if needed for your safety. Do not be afraid or feel shame for seeking protection, for God has called us to live in peace and safety. We also leave justice in God's hands while taking wise steps on earth, for it is written, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. You do not need to face this alone and you are not required to reconcile or remain in contact with one who has abused you.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name matters so deeply to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation, healing, and daily refuge.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around her, to keep her safe in her home, at work, and wherever she goes. Lord, we ask that You stop every attempt of this ex to contact her, to harass her, or to harm her in any way, and that You block any person he might try to enlist to target her. Expose every lie and scheme to ruin her reputation, and let truth and justice prevail. Give her Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding, heal the wounds left by abuse, and restore her strength and joy. Provide her with wise, godly support and with authorities who will protect her, and give her clear wisdom for every decision and boundary. We also pray for this man, that You would convict him of his sin, bring him to repentance, and cause him to turn from violence and evil and seek You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our refuge and deliverer. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to stay in the Word daily, and to keep no contact as you have wisely desired, while staying connected to safe community. Do not be afraid, for God says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We are continuing to pray for your safety, your peace, and your complete restoration in Christ.
