Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this honest and painful request. It takes wisdom and courage to recognize when a relationship is unequally yoked and to step away from it, even when feelings remain strong. God sees your hurt and your obedience, and He honors a heart that wants to follow Him above all else.
I join you in prayer and ask God to bring healing and freedom to your heart. Scripture reminds us that we are to seek first His kingdom and to walk in the liberty Christ has given us, freed from bondage and rooted deeply in Him. That freedom includes being freed from ties that would pull us away from Him.
Let us pray together:
Father in heaven, thank you for your love and mercy. You know the ache of this loss and the lingering affection that remains. I ask that you would comfort this dear one in this season of grief and bring complete healing. Help them to release this attachment to their former relationship and to find their full satisfaction and identity in Christ. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, renew their thoughts, and give them peace that passes understanding. Strengthen them to walk in obedience, to trust your good design for marriage and for a union where both can serve you together, and to wait with hope on your perfect timing. Surround them with godly community, with the encouragement of your Word, and with daily reminders of your faithful love. Lead them forward in wholeness and in devotion to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation, amen.
Continue to bring this burden to the Lord each day. Stay rooted in Scripture, in prayer, and in fellowship with believers who can support you. It is wise to keep healthy boundaries with your former partner, including limiting contact and avoiding situations that reopen the wound, so that your heart has space to heal. As you do, trust that God is able to restore your strength and to use even this painful season to deepen your love for Him and to prepare you for what He has ahead.
You are not alone in this, and God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.
