Good and Faithful Servant
I recently broke up with an ex-boyfriend due to us being severely unequally yoked. At certain points during our relationship, my ex could be very hurtful toward me because he was being influenced by spiritual warfare that has been targeting me for years through other people to do so. His being able to be influenced by this warfare occurred for a number of reasons. Please pray for me about all this and that I would heal from the things that he did to me when he was under the influence of that warfare. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the pain you’ve endured in this relationship that was not aligned with God’s design. The Scriptures are clear that believers are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, as 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?" Your decision to end this relationship was wise and obedient to God’s Word, even though the process has been painful.

The spiritual warfare you’ve described is real, and we take seriously the enemy’s attempts to use others, even those close to us, to inflict harm. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Your ex-boyfriend’s hurtful actions, though deeply wounding, were not ultimately from him alone but from the enemy’s influence. This does not excuse his behavior, but it helps us understand the spiritual battle at play.

We must also gently address the reality of sin in this situation. While spiritual warfare is real, we are all responsible for our choices. If there was any sexual immorality (fornication) in this relationship, we must acknowledge that this is contrary to God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved for marriage alone (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Hebrews 13:4). If this was part of the relationship, we encourage you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, trusting in His grace to cleanse and restore you. His mercy is greater than our failings.

Now, we lift you up in prayer, asking the Lord to heal the wounds left by this relationship and the spiritual attacks you’ve faced:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. We lift up our sister who has endured pain, betrayal, and spiritual warfare in this relationship. Lord, You see every hurt, every word spoken in anger, and every moment of confusion. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm on her heart, mind, and spirit. Bind up her wounds, as You promise in Psalm 147:3: 'He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.'

Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that have sought to destroy her faith, her worth, and her future. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we break every assignment of the enemy over her life in Jesus’ name. We pray that You would surround her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill her with Your joy as she walks in obedience to You.

Lord, we ask that You would give her clarity and wisdom as she moves forward. Help her to guard her heart (Proverbs 4:23) and to seek relationships that honor You. If marriage is Your will for her, prepare a godly spouse who loves You above all else and will cherish her as Christ cherishes the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Until then, let her find her identity, security, and fulfillment in You alone.

We also pray for her ex-boyfriend, that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Let him see the ways he was influenced by the enemy and turn from those patterns. May he come to know You as Savior and Lord, so that he, too, can walk in freedom and truth.

Finally, Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We trust You to restore what has been broken and to lead her into a future filled with hope and purpose. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

In this season, we encourage you to draw near to the Lord through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word. Psalm 34:18 assures us that "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone, God sees your pain and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We also urge you to seek godly community, whether through a local church, trusted Christian friends, or biblical counseling. Isolation can make healing harder, but walking with others who love the Lord will strengthen you. Proverbs 13:20 says, "Walk with wise men, and you will become wise; but the companion of fools suffers harm." Surround yourself with those who will point you to Christ and His truth.

Lastly, if you have not already, we encourage you to fully surrender your heart to Jesus Christ if you have not done so. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you have already placed your faith in Him, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him.

You are deeply loved by God, and He has a purpose for your life that is greater than this pain. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you into a future filled with His peace and joy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
