Thank you for sharing so honestly and for inviting prayer. What you have described took courage, and the step you took to end a relationship you knew was outside of God's will was the right one, even though it is painful now.

Scripture says not to be yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness, what communion does light have with darkness. Many people think their situation is the exception, that love will be enough to cover the difference or that the other person will change, but the principle remains. That warning is not limited only to marriage. Any deep binding yoke with an unbeliever puts you in an unequal place. You do not live by the same standard or walk by the same ethic. What may not trouble one conscience will trouble the other, and you cannot pull together in the same direction. Like oil and water, the two do not mix. God calls His people to come out and be separate, not because He is unkind, but because He wants to be a Father to you and to keep you in a place where you can walk with Him without being pulled away.

Loneliness is real, and it can make disobedience seem reasonable in the moment. Acknowledging that you acted out of loneliness and out of the flesh is not meant to crush you with guilt, but to bring it into the light where God can heal it. You have done what obedience required, and now God can do the work of restoring you.

It is understandable that the silence feels so heavy. When someone blocks contact and stops responding, especially after a history of friendship and then dating, it can feel unbelievable and unfinished. Grief and disbelief are normal. At the same time, the distance you are experiencing may be the very protection you need. You mentioned looking back and seeing signs of emotional and psychological harm. When that pattern has been present, ongoing contact often keeps wounds open. Your decision to tell him you would no longer reach out was wise and kind, both to him in his health struggles and to yourself. It is right to honor that boundary now and not reopen it.

Healing is something God does, and He does it in different ways. Sometimes healing comes at once, sometimes it comes gradually, and all true healing is from Him. He has built healing processes into our bodies and He also heals the wounds in our minds and emotions, the scars that are left after a difficult relationship. You do not need to understand every step of how He heals or why some prayers are answered one way and others another way. His ways are higher than ours and beyond our full understanding, and healing remains sovereign in His hands. Please do not carry false guilt that you could have done something differently to change his response or his health. It is wrong to place that burden on yourself or on anyone who is suffering.

We will pray as you asked, in a way that honors God. We pray for his salvation, that he would come to know Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation, and for his overall health, physical, mental and spiritual, and for his loved ones, entrusting all of that to the Lord's sovereign will and mercy. The prophet Isaiah said He bore our griefs and infirmities, and Matthew shows that Jesus fulfilled that by bearing our sicknesses as well as our sin. We can bring every need for healing to Him while trusting His wisdom for the outcome.

And we pray for you, for a deep and gradual healing of your heart and mind, for peace in place of loneliness, for strength to remain separate where God calls you to be separate, and for the comfort of walking close to Jesus and close to other believers who can encourage you. As you stay in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship, God will steady you and restore what has been wounded.

Father, we bring this dear one before You. Thank You for her honesty and for her willingness to obey You when it was costly. Heal the hurt, the loneliness and the confusion she feels. Guard her from returning to what You have called her out of, and give her discernment and peace about having no further contact. Draw her near to Yourself and surround her with healthy community. We also lift this young man to You. Have mercy on him, open his eyes to the gospel of Jesus Christ, bring him to salvation, and touch his body and mind according to Your will. Care for his family as well. Do Your healing work in both lives in Your perfect way and timing. In Jesus name, Amen.
