ER Christian lady

We are praying with you right now for this dear sister on her way to the emergency room in such great pain.

We bring her before Jesus who showed His heart so clearly when He walked among us. He touched the leper, He healed the centurion's servant with a word from a distance, He lifted Peter's mother in law from her fever, and in the evening crowds came with every kind of sickness and oppression and He ministered to them. Scripture tells us this was the fulfillment of what Isaiah foretold, that He Himself has borne our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. He has power in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and He still carries that same compassion today.

We also know that He heals in different ways. Sometimes His touch brings instant relief, sometimes healing comes gradually through the natural processes He has built into our bodies and through the hands of doctors and nurses, and all true healing is from Him. There is much we do not understand about why some are lifted quickly and others walk a longer and harder road, and Scripture itself shows that even the apostle Paul prayed earnestly and was called to trust God's wisdom and grace in his ongoing thorn. We do not presume to know God's perfect will in every detail, but we do know His character, that He loves, that He hears, and that He is present in suffering.

Pain and sickness were never part of God's original design. They entered this world through sin, and our bodies groan under that weight as we wait for the day when He will make all things new. In that coming kingdom there will be no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow or pain, because the former things will have passed away. Until then we cling to His promises and to His nearness in the midst of pain.

So we pray in the name of Jesus for mercy and help in this urgent hour. May the Lord ease her pain, calm her heart with His peace that passes understanding, guide the hands and minds of those caring for her and give them wisdom, and work His healing according to His gracious will, whether in an instant or step by step. May she sense that He is bearing her infirmity with her and that she is not alone. May He also bring comfort and strength to those who love her and are waiting and praying.

We will continue to lift her up and trust her into the hands of the Great Physician who bore our griefs and who loves her more deeply than we can express. Amen.
