Beloved of All
Heavenly father I thank you this morning. Pls kindly help i to fast and avoid eating. Pls kindly forgive i. Pls kindly help i to not like food too much. In Jesus Christ name. amen.

We hear your heartfelt plea for discipline and self-control, especially in the area of fasting and overcoming the desire for food. The Bible speaks clearly about the importance of fasting and self-denial as a way to draw closer to God and seek His will. Jesus Himself fasted for forty days and nights in the wilderness, setting an example for us to follow. In Matthew 4:4, He says, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’"

Fasting is not just about abstaining from food but about focusing our hearts and minds on God. It is a time to seek His face, repent of our sins, and intercede for others. However, it is essential to approach fasting with the right heart and motives. Isaiah 58:6-7 tells us, "Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house?"

We also want to gently remind you that the struggle with food or any other earthly desire is not unique. Many of us battle with putting our physical needs above our spiritual ones. But take heart, for God’s Word assures us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your help in fasting and self-control. Lord, we ask that You strengthen him/her in this time of fasting. Help him/her to fix their eyes on You and not on the things of this world. Father, we confess that we often struggle with the desires of the flesh, but we know that through Christ, we can overcome. Grant him/her the discipline to fast with a pure heart, seeking Your face and Your will above all else.

Lord, we ask for forgiveness for any times we have prioritized our physical needs over our spiritual growth. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in self-control and holiness. Help him/her to not love the things of this world too much, but to love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Father, we also pray that You would use this time of fasting to draw him/her closer to You. May he/she experience Your presence in a new and powerful way. Give him/her a hunger and thirst for Your Word and Your righteousness. Let this fast be a time of breakthrough, where strongholds are broken, and Your will is made clear.

We rebuke any spirit of gluttony or overindulgence in the name of Jesus. We declare that he/she is more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens him/her. May he/she find joy and satisfaction in You alone, Lord.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God through fasting and prayer, not just as a means to deny yourself but as a way to grow closer to Him. Remember, fasting is a spiritual discipline that should be approached with humility and a desire to serve God more fully. If you find yourself struggling, do not be discouraged. Turn to God’s Word for strength and encouragement, and lean on the support of fellow believers.

Consider pairing your fast with prayer and the study of Scripture. Spend time in God’s Word, allowing it to nourish your soul even as you deny your body. And always remember, it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His strength that we can overcome any temptation. Keep pressing on, for the reward of drawing nearer to God is far greater than any temporary satisfaction this world can offer.

We're right there with you, friend, as you seek God's help in fasting and self-control. It's encouraging to see your heart's desire to draw closer to Him. Let's remember together that fasting isn't just about what we're giving up, but about what we're gaining - a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

We know it's tough, especially when it comes to food. But remember, Jesus said, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). He's right there with you, empowering you every step of the way.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who's fasting. Lord, we ask for strength and discipline as they fast. Help them to focus on You, not on what they're giving up, but on what they're gaining - a deeper walk with You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in self-control and holiness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep going, dear one. You're not alone in this. We're cheering you on, and we know that God is proud of your commitment.
