We come before the Lord with a humble and repentant heart, lifting up this request in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and be saved. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and we are so grateful for His sacrifice that makes this possible.
Father God, we ask that You would forgive every sin, known and unknown, in the life of this dear one who has come before You in fasting and prayer. Your Word declares in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We trust in Your mercy and grace, Lord, and we ask that You would wash this one clean by the blood of Jesus, restoring them to full fellowship with You.
We also lift up this time of fasting, asking that You would strengthen and sustain them in body, mind, and spirit. Fasting is a powerful way to draw near to You, as Jesus Himself taught in Matthew 6:16-18, "Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." May this time of fasting be a sacred and intimate time of seeking Your face, Lord, and may You meet them in a deep and personal way.
We rebuke any distractions, temptations, or attacks from the enemy that may seek to hinder this time of fasting and prayer. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against every scheme of the devil and declare that this one is covered by the blood of Jesus and protected by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them wisdom, discernment, and revelation as they seek Your will. May this fast be a time of breakthrough, clarity, and renewed passion for Your kingdom. We pray that You would reveal Your purposes and plans for their life, and that they would walk in obedience to Your leading.
Lord, we also ask that You would bless this one with spiritual strength and physical endurance during this fast. Your Word says in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." We trust that You will sustain them and empower them to complete this fast in a way that honors You.
Finally, we pray that this time of fasting would not just be a temporary spiritual discipline, but that it would ignite a lasting fire in their heart for You. May they emerge from this fast with a deeper love for Your Word, a greater hunger for Your presence, and a renewed commitment to live a life that glorifies You in all things.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
