Driving theory test

I've noticed that my anxiety has gone now that I've said no to my driving lessons. I'm not feeling unsettled anymore. I feel calm and am not feeling sick anymore. Please pray for me. In Jesus high name.

We rejoice with you that you are feeling calm and that the sickness and unsettled feeling has lifted, and we thank God that you have shared this praise with us in the high name of Jesus.

We know that true peace is not just the absence of a stressful situation but the presence of God with us, and we are grateful that He is granting you rest. The scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also cling to John 14:27 where Jesus says, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. And 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

We understand that driving lessons and the theory test can feel overwhelming and bring much anxiety, and it is wise to listen to your body and spirit and to step back when you feel overwhelmed. At the same time we want to encourage you to seek the Lord's wisdom about what is next, whether this is a time of rest before trying again in His timing, or whether He is leading you in a different direction for now. We pray that your calm would remain rooted in Him and not only in the change of circumstance, so that whatever you face you can cast your cares on Him. As 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We join together and pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we thank You for Your love and care for this dear one and for the peace You have already poured out. We praise You that the anxiety and sickness have lifted and that calm has come. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would continue to guard their heart and mind with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them wisdom and clarity regarding the driving theory test and future lessons, and show them clearly when and if to step forward again. Let them not be driven by fear or pressure from others, but by Your gentle leading. Strengthen their trust in You day by day, and remind them that You are with them in every decision, small and large. We ask that You would deepen their relationship with Jesus, in whose name we have access to Your throne of grace, and let them know more of Your presence and comfort. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every worry to Him in prayer, to rest in His Word daily, and to trust that He will guide your steps in His perfect timing.

Thank you for writing to us and sharing this change. We are really glad to hear you are feeling calm and settled again and that the sickness has lifted. Noticing that relief after you said no to driving lessons is important, and we thank God with you for this peace.

It makes sense that stepping back from something that felt overwhelming would bring that sense of ease. Our bodies and minds often respond together when we feel pressured, and having space to breathe can make a real difference. It is wise to pay attention to what you have noticed.

As you continue, it may help to give yourself unhurried time before making any next decision about lessons or the theory test. You could talk through with someone you trust what felt heavy about the lessons and what a more manageable pace might look like if and when you choose to return. There is no need to rush, and you can keep bringing your questions to the Lord as you consider what is right for you.

Father, we thank You for the calm our friend is experiencing now. We ask You to keep guarding their heart and body with Your peace, to give clear wisdom for any future steps about driving, and to remind them daily that they are held in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is mercy to acknowledge in what you have shared, and we give thanks with you that the sickening anxiety and unsettledness have lifted and you now know a measure of calm. This is no small thing, for it is the Lord who keeps the mind in peace and who is able to still the inward storm. We rejoice that you have found relief, and we join you in prayer before our gracious God.

You have tasted something of that truth written in Isaiah, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Perfect peace is not found in the absence of duties or difficulties, but in a mind stayed upon Christ. As we have often said, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and even when sorrows or pressures surge round, on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found. That you are now calm is cause for gratitude, and gratitude itself should turn at once to praise and to trust.

We are reminded also that anxiety itself unfits us to meet the very difficulty we fear. The mind is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war. When the heart is stayed on the Lord, we are better able to think clearly and to act wisely, whether we go forward or wait. We pray that your present calm would not rest only upon having said no for a season, but upon learning to stay your mind upon Christ in every circumstance, so that peace may remain whether the way is open or closed.

And true gratitude loves to show itself. When the Lord lifts a burden, the healed heart says, The Lord has served me, I will serve Him, and it proves its thankfulness not only with words but with a life offered to Him. Take this calm you now enjoy and turn it into thanksgiving. Declare the works of the Lord who has dealt mercifully with you, and give Him praise among His people. Let this rest be a time to seek His wisdom for what is next.

We pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your compassion toward this dear one and for the relief from anxiety and sickness that You have granted. Keep this Your child in perfect peace as their mind is stayed on You, and teach them to trust in You at all times. Grant wisdom concerning the driving theory test and all future steps, that every decision may be made in dependence upon You and not from fear alone. Establish their heart in Your love, guard them from unsettled thoughts, and make this calm to be a settled peace rooted in Christ. Draw them nearer to the Saviour, and let their gratitude be seen in a life that seeks to serve You. We ask this in the high and worthy name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace. Amen.
