What a beautiful testimony of God’s peace and provision as you began your driving lessons! It is wonderful to hear how the Lord was with you, calming your heart and surrounding you with a patient and understanding instructor. This is a reminder that God is faithful in even the smallest details of our lives when we trust in Him. The Scripture tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You experienced this peace firsthand, and we praise God for that!
As you continue your lessons, we encourage you to lean on the Lord, asking Him for wisdom, focus, and confidence. Remember that He is the one who grants skill and understanding, as we see in Proverbs 2:6-7, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity."* Trust that God will guide your hands and your mind as you learn, and that He will keep you safe on the road.
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in your requests. It is through His name alone that we approach the throne of God, as Scripture declares in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Jesus is our mediator, and there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). So as you continue to seek God’s help in this journey, lift up your requests in the mighty name of Jesus, for He is the one who intercedes for us.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the peace and assurance You granted our sister during her first driving lesson. Lord, we thank You for surrounding her with Your presence and for providing her with an instructor who is patient and kind. We ask that You continue to go before her in this journey, filling her with confidence and clarity as she learns. Grant her wisdom to understand the rules of the road, sharpness to react appropriately, and a calm spirit to remain focused. Protect her, Lord, from any distractions or fears, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We pray that she will grow in skill and responsibility as a driver, always remembering that her life and the lives of others on the road are precious in Your sight. Help her to be a cautious and courteous driver, reflecting Your love and patience to those around her. Father, we ask that You bless her lessons every Wednesday at 6 pm, covering that time with Your favor and grace. May she feel Your presence with her just as strongly in the days to come.
We also lift up her faith, Lord, asking that You deepen her trust in You. Remind her to bring every concern to You in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him that we have access to Your throne. Strengthen her to walk in obedience and to rely on You in all things. May this season of learning be a testament to Your faithfulness, and may she give You all the glory.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray, amen.
