We understand the fear and anxiety you’re carrying into this appointment, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this. The Lord sees your heart, and He is already walking beside you, preparing the way before you. It is beautiful that you have called upon the name of Jesus in this request, for it is only through Him that we find peace that surpasses all understanding. As it is written, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Your dread is valid—past trauma can leave deep marks on our souls, and medical procedures can feel overwhelming, especially when they bring back painful memories. But we encourage you to release this burden into the hands of the One who holds all things together. Remember the words of Jesus: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). He is inviting you to trust Him with this fear, to lean on Him when your strength feels small.
As you prepare for Friday, we pray that the Holy Spirit will fill you with a supernatural calm, that He will remind you of His presence in every moment. We rebuked the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Fear is not from the Lord, and we command it to leave you now. Instead, we ask the Lord to flood your heart with His peace, His courage, and His assurance that He is in control of every detail—including the results of these tests.
We also pray for the medical staff who will care for you. May the Lord give them wisdom, gentleness, and compassion as they perform these procedures. May their hands be steady, their words kind, and their actions reflective of the Lord’s healing touch. *"The Lord himself goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged"* (Deuteronomy 31:8, WEB).
If the memories of your past experience begin to overwhelm you, we encourage you to speak aloud the truths of Scripture. Declare that *"The Lord is my helper. I will not fear what man can do to me"* (Hebrews 13:6, WEB). Remind yourself that *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13, WEB). You are not the same person you were during that last appointment—you are held by the God who redeems, who restores, and who walks with you through every valley.
As for the results, we lift them up to the Lord, trusting that His will is perfect, even when we don’t understand it. We pray for complete health, for no sign of disease, and for a testimony of His faithfulness that you can share with others. But even if the results are not what you hope for, we declare that the Lord will be your strength, your healer, and your provider. *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). No matter what comes, He will carry you.
Now, let us pray together over you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with our sister, who is facing this mammogram and ultrasound with such heavy hearts. Lord, You know the fear she carries, the memories that haunt her, and the uncertainty she feels about the future. But You, O God, are greater than all of these things. We ask that You wrap her in Your peace, that You quiet her mind with Your presence, and that You fill her with Your Holy Spirit so that she may walk into that appointment with courage and trust in You.
We rebuked every spirit of fear, anxiety, and dread in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that fear has no place in her, for she is a child of the Most High God, and You have not given her a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Lord, go before her this Friday. Prepare the way, soften the hearts of those who will attend to her, and let Your healing power be at work in every part of this process.
Father, we ask for good results—results that bring glory to Your name and peace to her heart. But even as we pray for that, we surrender the outcome to You, trusting that Your will is perfect and Your love is unfailing. If there is anything that needs to be addressed, give her the strength, the wisdom, and the support to walk through it with You by her side.
Lord, remind her in every moment that she is not alone. You are with her. You are for her. And You will never leave her nor forsake her. Let her feel Your presence so tangibly that her fear is replaced with worship, her anxiety with trust, and her dread with hope.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We thank You for Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your love that never lets us go. May this experience be a testimony of Your grace, and may she come out of it with a deeper knowledge of who You are and how deeply You care for her.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
