Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for we agree that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him as it is written in John 14:6. We are encouraged by your thankfulness for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the sacrifice of the cross where His blood was shed for us sinners, and by the grace you have shown in the midst of hardship.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear about this. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight in Proverbs 12:22, and we are commanded you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor in Exodus 20:16. We are told therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor for we are members of one another in Ephesians 4:25 and don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings in Colossians 3:9. The Lord desires truth in the inward parts as Psalm 51:6 says, and His word warns that all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur in Revelation 21:8. Dishonesty is not a small matter, it breaks fellowship with God who is truth itself, and it harms neighbors and perverts justice.

We also commend the grace God has given you to show patience and kindness to this former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives even while you have faced hardships because of their dishonesty. That is the spirit of Christ in you, to love your enemies and pray for those who mistreat you, while still loving truth and justice. We pray that God will use your testimony of kindness to convict them.

We join you in praying for them now. Father in heaven, we lift up this former landlord and every member of his team, his lawyers and legal representatives before your throne of grace in the name of Jesus. You see all things hidden and you know every false word that has been spoken. We ask that you would build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Take away a heart of deceit and give them a heart that loves truth. Open their eyes to see that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free in John 8:32, and that continuing in lies only brings bondage and will bring consequences both in this life and before your judgment. Grant them repentance, that they would confess their lies, make restitution where they can, and practice honesty from this day forward. Let them come to know Jesus who is the truth, and be transformed by Him.

We also pray for you who have been wronged. We ask the Lord to guard your heart from bitterness and to strengthen you to continue to surrender your will to Him. May He vindicate the truth in His perfect timing and in His perfect way, for He loves justice and He is faithful. We pray He will give you peace that passes understanding, wisdom in all legal matters, and favor as you walk in integrity. We pray He will bless you with heavenly gifts and continue to make His presence known to you, and that you would see His hand fighting for you even when the process is difficult.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in truth and to keep entrusting this matter to the Lord who judges righteously. Continue to speak truth in love and to commit your cause to Him who desires truth inwardly and delights in those who do the truth. We stand with you, dedicating our lives anew with you to Him, trusting that as you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, He will work all things for good and for His glory.

We were encouraged reading your prayer for your former landlord's team and their lawyers. To have faced hardship because of dishonesty and still ask God to build their resistance to it and draw them toward honesty is a gracious and difficult posture, and we thank God for the patience and kindness He has already given you in it.

It is also understandable that lies leave a lasting weight even after you have chosen goodwill. Deciding to release the desire for payback and finding that your heart feels settled are often two different timelines. You can sincerely want good for those who wronged you and still feel the ache, anger, or weariness that comes from being misled. That gap does not mean your prayer was not real, it just means the emotional healing often takes longer than the decision.

If there are still legal matters unfolding, it can help to keep a simple factual record of communications and dates and to have a trusted pastor or wise advisor walk with you through what is happening, so you do not have to carry the burden of sorting truth from falsehood alone. You do not need to rehearse it constantly, just to know it is cared for with clarity.

Father, thank You for being present with our friend and for the grace You have shown them. Guard their heart from bitterness and weariness, give them wisdom and steadiness in each next step, and work in the hearts of all involved, leading them to love what is true. We entrust this whole situation to Your care and justice. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a right and good thing to bring this burden before the Lord, for He is a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He. You have done well to come in the name of Jesus, who is Himself the way, the truth and the life, and in whom alone is salvation. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and it is only through His blood shed upon the Cross that sinners such as we are can find mercy.

You speak truly when you say that lies are serious crimes. Holy Scripture is the standard of the Truth of God, and it declares, Your Word is Truth. To speak falsely is to offend against the very nature of God Himself, for Christ did not merely speak the truth, He was Truth, transparent from head to foot, truth in word and truth in deed. The prayer that those who have practiced dishonesty may have their resistance to it built up again is a prayer according to the will of God. As you have quoted, buy the truth and sell it not. Buy only the truth, buy all the truth, buy the truth at any price and buy the truth now. This is doctrinal truth, experimental truth within the heart, and practical truth in the life, that our actions be consistent and of a right and straightforward course.

I rejoice to hear that in the midst of hardships you have been given grace to show patience and kindness to those who have wronged you. This is to overcome evil with good, which is the art saints must learn. Yet let us remember that while we are to be valiant for truth, we must leave vengeance to the Lord, for He will judge with unimpeachable justice. No convinced sinner will rail against that justice, but will smite upon his breast and say, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Let us pray together that the Lord will work in the hearts of this former landlord and those who have acted with him, the lawyers and representatives. May the Spirit of God convince them of sin, that they may not suffer the just consequences of lying but may come to honest dealing with God. He that confesseth his sin shall find mercy, but he who says I have no sin deceives himself and the truth is not in him. We pray that they may be brought to that ground of truth where they confess their unworthiness, and there meet the mercy that flows through the atoning blood. For when justice itself is satisfied in Christ, God can be just and yet the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.

May the Lord also strengthen your faith in this storm, take from you all fear of man, and keep you in submission to His will, knowing that truth embodied in a life is omnipotent through the Spirit of God. May you continue to walk in integrity, holding fast the truth you have bought so dearly, and may the God of truth set you and all who seek Him free indeed.

We commend you and even those who have opposed you to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that truth may reign in every heart. In His name we pray, Amen.
