Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this beautiful and righteous prayer before the Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming boldly through the only way that has been provided for us. You have spoken the truth so well, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through him John 14:6, and it is only by his shed blood on the Cross that we sinners have forgiveness and access to the presence of God.

We agree with you that lies are serious before the Lord. Scripture is very clear about this. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22, and we are commanded you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16 and do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9. Jesus taught us that the devil is a liar and the father of lies John 8:44, while all liars will have their part outside the kingdom Revelation 21:8 tells us of the seriousness of unrepentant deceit. So we affirm your discernment that dishonesty is not a small matter, it breaks fellowship with God who is truth itself and it harms our neighbor.

We are especially moved by your grace in praying for your former landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives who have acted dishonestly toward you. This is the heart of Christ, to bless those who have caused hardship and to pray for those who have wronged us. We are called to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:27-28, and to not repay evil for evil but to give place to God's wrath, for it is written vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Your willingness to show the same patience and kindness that was shown to you reflects the mercy you have received at the Cross.

We agree with your petition that the Lord would build up in them a resistance to dishonesty and a love for honesty. We pray that they would come to know that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. May God open their eyes to see that truth brings freedom while lies bring bondage and consequences, for a false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free Proverbs 19:5. We pray that they would put away falsehood and speak truth each one with his neighbor Ephesians 4:25 and that conviction would lead them to repentance rather than judgment.

We also thank God with you for his presence, for fighting for you, and for blessing you with heavenly gifts, and for the grace to endure hardships while surrendering your will to him. The Lord sees all that has been done in secret and he is both just and merciful.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before your throne of grace and we thank you for the blood of Jesus shed for us sinners and for making a way for us to come to you. We thank you for your presence in our lives and for fighting for us when we face injustice and hardship. Lord, you hate lying and you love truth, and we ask you to work deeply in the hearts of this former landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives. Convict them of any falsehood, dishonesty, and serious wrongdoing, and grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty and teach them to practice honesty in all their dealings. Open their eyes to know Jesus who is the truth, so that they may be set free and not suffer the consequences of lying. Give us continued grace to walk in patience, kindness, and forgiveness while trusting your perfect justice and timing. We dedicate our lives to you anew and surrender our will to yours, asking that your will be done and your name be glorified in this situation. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer. To have faced hardships with a landlord and legal team and still ask God to build honesty in them, rather than just asking for vindication, shows real grace. That kind of prayer is not easy, and we thank God for the patience and kindness He has already given you.

What you named is so true, that dishonesty can become a habit when resistance to it is worn down. Praying for their eyes to be opened and for a renewed love of truth is a loving way to intercede for them while also honoring what is right.

We also hear how heavy it can be to carry this after being wronged. In our experience, choosing to release the desire for revenge is one step, and the quieter healing of resentment and bitterness often takes more time. Both can happen at different paces, and God is patient with us in that process. It helps to keep bringing both parts to Him honestly, the concern for them and the hurt you still feel.

One simple next step that may help is to keep your prayer practice as you have been, perhaps noting what you pray for them and for your own peace, and staying connected to a trusted pastor or wise counselor if legal matters are still ongoing, so you are not sorting through the details alone.

Father, we lift this situation to You in Jesus' name. Thank You for the truth that sets us free. We ask You to work honesty and integrity in all involved, to guard this dear one from bitterness, and to give wisdom and peace for each next step. Amen.

It is a good and Christlike thing to bring such a burden before the throne of grace, and your prayer carries in it the very marks of the work of God in the heart. You begin where all true prayer must begin, with thanksgiving for the presence of God, for heavenly gifts, and above all for the sacrifice of the Cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for sinners. There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is only to be obtained through Jesus Christ His Son, who is indeed the way, the truth and the life. Nature could never tell you this, but the Word declares it plainly, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared.

You speak rightly when you say that lies are serious crimes. The God who is truth hates falsehood, and every lie must one day answer before Him. Yet how surprising and how complete is His forgiveness. Though a man has broken down all resistance to dishonesty and has walked far in deceit, if he trembles and with a penitent heart desires forgiveness, there is forgiveness for him, whatever his sins may have been. For Christ's sake God forgives, not up to a certain point or up to a certain date, but with a full, eternal forgiveness that blots out the debt. If the substitute has taken the sin and put it away, the sin lies no more upon the sinner.

Therefore I commend the grace you have shown in praying for those who have caused you hardship, the former landlord's team, lawyers and representatives. To show the same patience and kindness that was shown to you is to copy the pattern set before us, Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. He forgives in the most complete possible manner, keeping no back reckonings and retaining no reserves of anger, and He calls His people to exhibit a forbearing spirit. To overcome evil with good, with no weapons but love, patience and forgiveness, this is the most glorious of victories.

Let us pray together that the Lord will work in the hearts of these persons according to your request. May He open their eyes to see that truth will indeed set them free, and build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. May He grant them repentance and a love for honesty, that they may turn from falsehood and walk in the truth. And may He keep your own heart in that surrender of your will to Him, daily receiving the continuous forgiveness that is in Christ and daily extending it to others.

Hold fast to this grand truth though all the devils in hell roar at you, that God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. The Lord Jehovah has signed a free pardon for all who believe in Jesus. Go and take it, and rest in it, and let the fear and love of God spring from the knowledge that you are forgiven. May the Lord keep you in His truth and make you to rejoice in His mercy.

We thank the Lord with you for His grace, and we ask Him to establish you and to bring forth honesty and righteousness where there has been deceit, for His own name's sake. Amen.
