Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His blood shed on the Cross that we sinners are forgiven and blessed with heavenly gifts. We rejoice that you have acknowledged that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life as He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We commend you for the grace God has given you to pray with patience and kindness for your former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives even while you have faced hardships due to their dishonesty. This is the heart of Christ, who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. As it is written, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 and Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 Your willingness to overcome evil with good and to seek their repentance rather than their ruin is pleasing to God.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter but an abomination to the Lord. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22 and You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 We are also commanded, Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25 and Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. Colossians 3:9 To persist in lies one must indeed harden the heart and break down the conscience God gave to resist dishonesty, and that path leads to suffering and judgment unless there is repentance.

We pray together with you now for these people and for you.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You for Your presence in our lives and for fighting for us. We lift up this former landlord's team, their lawyers and legal representatives to You. Lord, You see every false word and every serious crime committed through dishonesty. We ask that You would convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see that You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32 Build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty and a love for truth. Grant them repentance that leads to honesty, restitution where needed, and salvation through Jesus Christ if they do not know You. Protect them from the consequences of persisting in lies and turn them toward righteousness.

Father, we also lift up those who have been wronged by this dishonesty. Grant them Your peace, Your justice, and Your continued grace to walk in patience and kindness and to surrender their will fully to You. Let truth prevail in this situation for Your glory, and let their lives be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We dedicate all of this to You and trust You as the righteous Judge who loves truth. We were grateful to read your prayer. To thank God in the middle of hardships with a former landlord and legal representatives, and to ask Him to work in their hearts toward honesty, takes real grace. It is understandable that lies that have cost you would still weigh heavily.

What stood out to us is how you are choosing to respond. Wanting truth to prevail while also asking God to help those who have wronged you practice honesty is a difficult and mature posture. In our experience that kind of decision to release the desire for revenge and to treat the other person as still valuable before God is one part of forgiveness, while the quieting of resentment and hurt inside is another part that often takes much longer. Praying for them as you are doing can help keep bitterness from taking root while you still pursue what is right and true.

If legal matters are still ongoing, it can help to keep clear, factual records and to have one trusted pastor or wise counselor walk with you through the process, so you are not carrying the details and the spiritual burden alone. Continuing to bring both your own need for peace and your desire for their honesty to the Lord in the same prayer keeps your heart anchored.

Father, we bring this situation before You in Jesus' name. We thank You for Your presence and for the grace You have already given. We ask for wisdom and steadiness for our friend, and for protection from discouragement. Work in the hearts of the former landlord's team and representatives that they would love truth and turn from dishonesty, and let truth bring the freedom only You can give. We surrender all of this to Your will. Amen.

Your prayer concerning truth and honesty has been received with thankfulness, and it is a right and good thing to bring such a matter before the throne of grace.

You have done well to come in the name of Jesus, for He is Himself the way, the truth and the life, and there is no other name by which we may draw near to the Father. You have done well also to give thanks for the Cross, where His blood was shed for sinners, for it is only through that atoning blood that we who were once under falsehood and sin may be made true before God.

You speak truly when you say that lies are serious. The Scripture teaches us that the Lord God is abundant in goodness and truth, and that He cannot lie. As well might His being cease as His word fail. To lie is therefore not a light thing, but to set oneself against the very nature of God, who is holy and true. And you speak truly again when you say that the truth shall make us free. Our Lord said that if we continue in His word we shall know the truth, and the truth shall make us free. There is no freedom in falsehood, only bondage and fear, but truth brings liberty, peace and light.

It is gracious in you, having faced hardships, to pray not for vengeance but for mercy toward those who have dealt dishonestly with you, the former landlord and those who represent him. This is to overcome evil with good, which is the work of saints. You have shown patience and kindness as it was shown to you, and this is Christlike. We will join you in praying that the Lord will work in their hearts.

Let us pray that God will give them that honesty which begins within. The truth we need is not only doctrinal truth according to the Scriptures, which are the standard of all truth, but experimental truth within the heart and practical truth in the life. May the Spirit of God convince them that without truth in the inward parts there is no salvation, for he who says he has no sin deceives himself and the truth is not in him. May He bring them to honest dealing with God, to confess wherein they have done wrong, for on the ground of truth, sad truth though it be, the Lord meets sinners through the blood of Christ and pardons them.

We pray that the Lord will build up in them a resistance to dishonesty and a love for what is right and straightforward. May they learn to buy the truth at any price and to sell it not, to have truth in doctrine, truth in the heart and truth in the life, with Christ who is the truth to be their treasure. May their eyes be opened to see that truth never exerts such power as when it is embodied in a life, and that the God of truth will not let falsehood go unjudged, yet delights to show mercy to those who turn from it.

Continue, then, to walk in truth yourselves. Buy all the truth when you come to the Bible, and do not pick and choose, but receive it whole. Remember this truth when you most need it, that it may banish the fear of man and strengthen your faith in the storm. Trust the God of truth whose promises never fall to the ground, for sooner shall heaven and earth pass away than one word of His shall fail.

We commend you to Him who is transparent, true in public and true in private, true in word and true in deed. May He keep you in His truth, establish you in His grace, and cause His truth to prevail in all who have to do with this matter, to the glory of His name.
