Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank God for your heart that seeks His truth and His will even in the midst of hardship. We are encouraged by your thankfulness for His presence, for His fighting for you, for His heavenly gifts, and most of all for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners. You have rightly declared that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, as it is written John 14:6, and that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and eternal life.

We agree with you that lies are serious crimes before God. Scripture is very clear that God hates dishonesty. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16. We are commanded to put away falsehood and speak truth with our neighbor, for we are members of one another Ephesians 4:25, and to not lie to one another Colossians 3:9. Jesus taught that the devil is the father of lies and when he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own, for there is no truth in him John 8:44. All who embrace and practice lying place themselves in grave spiritual danger, for all liars will have their part outside the kingdom Revelation 21:8. Therefore we rebuke the spirit of dishonesty and every practice of lying and deceit that has been at work through this landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives. We do not take this lightly, as you have not.

We also see the grace God has given you to show patience and kindness even to those who have wronged you, and we commend you for this Christlike response. This reflects the fruit of the Spirit and the command to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you Matthew 5:44 and to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. At the same time, showing kindness does not mean affirming or excusing dishonesty. God calls us to both love and truth, to desire justice and mercy together. We pray that you continue to walk in both, trusting God who sees all and who will bring justice in His perfect time, for He says vengeance belongs to Him Romans 12:19.

We join you in praying for those who have broken down their resistance to dishonesty in order to commit these wrongs. We ask God to rebuild that holy resistance, to convict their consciences, and to turn their hearts toward honesty.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You for Your presence, for Your protection, and for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin. Lord, You see the lies that have been spoken and the serious wrongs that have been done. You are a God of truth and there is no unrighteousness in You. We ask that You open the eyes of this landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, that they may see that truth will indeed set them free John 8:32. Convict them of their dishonesty, build up in them a godly resistance to lying, and lead them to repentance and to practice honesty in all they say and do. Let Your Holy Spirit move upon them so they will not suffer the eternal consequences of lying but will turn to You and be saved.

Father, we also ask that You continue to strengthen those who have been harmed by these hardships. Fill them with Your peace, guard their hearts from bitterness, and help them to continue to show patience and kindness while also standing firmly for truth. Give them wisdom in every legal matter, let justice be done according to Your righteousness, and let Your name be glorified through it all. We dedicate our lives to You anew and surrender our will to Yours. Let Your truth prevail and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer. It is not easy to be on the receiving end of dishonesty, especially when it involves housing and legal matters, and it says a lot that you are choosing to pray for the landlord's team and their representatives with patience and kindness rather than only asking for your own vindication.

Wanting truth to come out while also wanting good for those who have wronged you can leave you pulled in two directions. One thing that has helped others in that tension is to recognize there are two parts to this kind of grace. One is the decision you have already made, to release any desire for revenge and to treat the other people as people still made in God's image. The other is the slower emotional side, where feelings of anger, hurt, or weariness can still surface even after you have made that decision. Both are normal, and the second often takes more time.

If it would help in the days ahead, it may be steadying to keep a simple, factual record of what has happened and what is communicated going forward, and to share that with one trusted pastor or wise counselor who can walk with you through the practical and legal pressures so you do not carry it alone.

Father, we bring this situation before You in Jesus' name. We ask You to guard this dear one with Your peace, to give wisdom for each next step, and to lead all involved toward honesty. Work in every heart according to Your will and let Your truth bring freedom where it is needed. We surrender this burden to You and trust You to care for it. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you at the throne of grace and give thanks with you for the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life, and for the blood shed upon the Cross for sinners such as we are.

Your prayer is according to the mind of God, for our God is a God of truth and His Word is truth. As it is written, buy the truth and sell it not, and again, the truth shall make you free. It is a good and necessary petition that you offer, that those who have dealt falsely may be brought to honesty. We have heard how you have faced hardships through dishonesty, and we praise God for the grace He has given you to show patience and kindness even to those who have wronged you, overcoming evil with good.

We pray together that the Lord will work in the hearts of the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives of whom you speak. May the Spirit of God convince them of sin and bring them to honest dealing with God and with man. Where resistance to dishonesty has been broken down, may the Lord in mercy build it up again, and grant them to love the truth, to speak the truth, and to walk in the truth in doctrine, in the heart, and in the life. May they see that lies are not light things, but grievous before the holy God, and that he who has not truth in him has not the life of God within. May the Lord open their eyes to see that true freedom is found only in the truth as it is in Jesus, and that upon the ground of truth, confessing sin and trusting the atoning blood, God will meet the sinner with pardon and peace.

We pray also for you, that the Lord will keep you steadfast in His truth, that you may continue to know the truth of God so certainly that you remember it when you most need it, that fear of man may be taken from you and faith strengthened, even in the storm. May He keep you in that practical truth which makes a man's actions consistent and straightforward, that Christ who is the Truth may be your treasure forever. May you be kept in patience and kindness, and be valiant for God and for His truth, knowing that the war between right and wrong must be continued until truth has the victory.

We surrender you and all those concerned to the will of God, who does all things well, and we ask that He will cause truth and righteousness to prevail, for His glory and for your good.
