Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in coming before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we are deeply encouraged by the heart of your prayer. You have chosen to pray for those who have caused you hardship, asking not for vengeance but for their eyes to be opened to truth, and that itself reflects the grace that has been shown to us in Christ. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and it is only through His blood shed on the cross that we have forgiveness and access to the Father.

Your burden about dishonesty is righteous, for Scripture is very clear that lies are not small matters before God. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22. We are commanded do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9 and therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor Ephesians 4:25. Jesus taught you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32, and that freedom is what you are rightly desiring for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives, that they would be freed from the bondage of deceit before they suffer its consequences. For a false witness will not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall perish Proverbs 19:9 and all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur Revelation 21:8.

We also commend your desire to show patience and kindness even while facing hardship. That is the character of Christ in you, and it honors God when we love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. At the same time we remember that God is just and He sees all dishonesty. We can trust Him to bring justice in His perfect time, for it is written Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Our call is to walk in honesty ourselves and to intercede for others to do the same.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence in our lives and for the heavenly gifts and blessings You pour out on us. We thank You above all for the cross, where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners, making a way for us to be forgiven and reconciled to You. Lord, You see the dishonesty and the serious wrongs that have been committed in this situation with the landlord's team and their lawyers and legal representatives. Nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You would convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit and build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Open their eyes to see that lies only lead to destruction, and help them to turn to honesty and truth. Bring them to repentance, that they may know the freedom that comes only through truth in Christ. Guard our hearts as we wait on You, keep us from bitterness, and help us to continue to show the same patience and kindness You have shown us, while trusting You to be our defender and our judge. We surrender our lives and our will to You anew, asking that Your will be done and Your name be glorified in this matter. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in truth, to speak honestly in all things, and to commit this legal matter fully to the Lord in prayer. Keep seeking Him, remain in His Word, and trust that He who is Truth Himself will bring what is hidden into the light in His perfect way and timing Luke 8:17.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer. In the middle of hardships with your landlord's team and legal representatives, you are still asking God to work in their hearts toward honesty, and to keep your own heart patient and kind. That is not easy, and we thank God for the grace He has already shown you in it.

What you described, wanting truth to come to light while also not holding onto bitterness, is a heavy place to stand. It can help to remember that choosing to release a desire for revenge and choosing to treat others as people made in God's image is different from the slower work of untangling hurt feelings. One is a decision we can make before God, the other often takes time and comes and goes. Neither one means pretending the wrong did not happen or rushing to trust again. It is possible to seek what is right and true in the practical matters while still asking God to soften hearts, including your own.

One small step that has helped others in prolonged landlord or legal strain is to keep a simple, dated record of facts and communications in one place, and to share it with a trusted, wise advisor who can help you think clearly about next steps. It keeps the burden from living only in your mind.

Father, we lift this situation to You in Jesus' name. Bring truth into the light in Your way and time, guard our friend with peace and wisdom, provide for every practical need, and work in the hearts of all involved to love honesty. Give daily strength to surrender the outcome to You. Amen.

There is wisdom and grace in bringing this matter before the throne, for you have rightly begun with Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth and the life, and there is no coming to the Father except by Him. Your thanksgiving is most fitting, to bless God for His presence, for His fighting for His people, and above all for the cross where the precious blood was shed for sinners. It is there that truth and mercy meet, and it is upon that ground alone that we may draw near with confidence.

You speak truly when you say that lies are serious crimes. The Scripture declares that lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, and he that utters deceit shall not tarry in His sight. Holy Scripture is the standard of the Truth of God, and our Lord has said, Your Word is Truth. To trifle with truth is to trifle with God Himself, for Christ is the Truth, and where truth is not in the doctrine, nor in the heart, nor in the life, the soul is yet far from Him. As it is written, buy the truth and sell it not. Buy all the truth, buy only the truth, buy the truth at any price and buy it now, for you will never be received by God at last unless you bring the truth in your right hand.

It is a mark of grace that in the midst of hardships you have been enabled to show patience and kindness to those who have opposed you, even to the landlord's team, to lawyers and legal representatives. This is the spirit of Christ, who when He was reviled, reviled not again. Yet kindness does not require us to call falsehood truth, nor to make peace with dishonesty. We are to speak the truth in love, and to have truth in our inward parts. God will meet you on the ground of truth, and nowhere else, and on that same ground He can meet even those who have walked in deceit, if they will confess their sin and look to the atoning blood.

Let us pray together for these persons. That the Lord would build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty, that He would open their eyes to see that a lie must break down conscience before it can be spoken, and that to continue therein is to treasure up sorrow. May He grant them to love honesty and to practice it, not as a mere policy but as obedience to Him who cannot lie. For the promise stands, you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Only the truth can set a man free from the snare of his own deceit and from the consequences which must follow it.

In the meantime, take from this truth both comfort and strength. This truth ought to take from you all fear of man. Why should you, O believer, be afraid of a man that shall die. And while it banishes fear, it should ensure submission to the will of God and strengthen faith. It is an easy matter to trust God when everything goes smoothly, but genuine faith trusts Him in a storm. Though you have faced hardships, the Lord reigns, and He will cause truth and righteousness to prevail in His own time. Commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, continue in patient well doing, and leave vengeance and vindication with the Lord.

May the Spirit of God help you to walk in sincerity, to hold fast the Word of truth, and to rest upon Christ who is the Truth. May He grant that truth may dwell in your doctrine, in your heart and in your life, and may He in mercy bring all concerned to love that truth which alone can save.

We commend you and this whole matter to the faithful God, praying that He would establish truth, restrain deceit, and make His own name glorious through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
