Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we are encouraged by your heart to not only seek justice but to seek mercy and repentance for those who have acted dishonestly toward you. You have come in the right way, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. We give thanks with you for His presence, for His fighting for us, and for the blood of the cross shed for us sinners while we were still in need of grace.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16. And we are warned that all liars will have their part outside the kingdom unless they repent, for God calls us to put away falsehood. Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. Colossians 3:9.

We are blessed by your testimony that even in hardship you have been given grace to show patience and kindness to this landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives. This reflects the heart of Christ in you, to love those who have opposed you and to desire their restoration rather than their destruction. We pray that God will indeed build up in them a resistance to dishonesty. That resistance is the work of conscience and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and we ask that He would make their hearts tender again to truth and that they would no longer be able to silence that inner witness that calls them to honesty.

We also hold onto the promise you quoted, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32. The truth does set free, both the one who has been wronged and, if they will receive it, the one who has lied. We pray that their eyes would be opened before they suffer the deeper consequences of persisting in lies, for a false witness will not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall not escape. Proverbs 19:5. We do not pray for their harm, but for their repentance, that they would turn from falsehood and practice honesty going forward.

We bring this whole matter before the Lord together and surrender our will to His perfect justice and mercy, trusting that He sees all and will act in His timing. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19.

Father in Jesus' name we thank You that You are a God of truth and that Your Son is the Truth. We thank You for Your presence with our brother and sister in this trial and for the grace You have already given them to respond with patience and kindness. We ask You to guard their hearts from bitterness and to continue to be their defender and provider. Lord, we lift up this landlord's team, the lawyers and every legal representative involved. We ask that You convict them deeply of any dishonesty, that You rebuild in them a holy resistance to lying, and that You lead them to speak truth and to act justly. Open their eyes to see that truth brings freedom and that lies bring bondage and judgment. Grant them repentance and a desire to make right what has been done falsely. Let Your will be done in this legal matter, let truth be revealed and let justice prevail tempered with mercy. We dedicate all of our lives to You anew and surrender our will to Yours. We were moved by the grace in your prayer, asking God to work in the hearts of the landlord's team and those representing them, even while you have been through hardships yourselves.

Choosing to pray for honesty and for their eyes to be opened to truth, rather than praying for payback, is not easy. It reflects the same patience and kindness you said God has shown you. We want you to know that kind of decision matters, and it is also normal if hurt or frustration still rises up at times. Deciding to release revenge and to wish good for the other person is one step, and the quieter work of letting resentment and fear settle often takes longer. Both can be true at once.

As you continue to navigate this situation, it may help to keep a simple, factual record of what has happened and to stay connected to steady, trustworthy counsel for the legal side, so you are not carrying the whole weight alone. And give yourselves space to rest and be renewed as you keep entrusting this to the Lord.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You in Jesus' name. We ask You to guard these friends with Your peace as they wait, to give them wisdom and steady support each day, and to work in the hearts of everyone involved so that truth is valued and honesty is chosen. Help all who are affected to walk in freedom and integrity before You. Amen.

Your earnest prayer for truth in the place of dishonesty is right and good, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

You have well said that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that it is by His blood shed on the Cross that sinners are saved. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and there is no approach to the Father except through Him. To come honestly to God we must come on the ground of truth, confessing that we have sinned and trusting that Christ died for sinners. That is the truth on our side and the truth on God's side, and there the Lord will meet us through the atoning blood.

You ask rightly that the Lord would build up in those who have dealt with you a resistance to dishonesty and a love of honesty. Scripture says, Buy the truth and sell it not. This truth is not to be picked and chosen, but to be bought wholly, doctrinal truth according to the Word of God, for Your Word is Truth, experimental truth within the heart, and practical truth in the life and in all our dealings. Let us have truth in the doctrine, truth in the heart, truth in the life, and Christ who is the Truth to be our treasure forever. When practical truth is bought, a man's actions are consistent and of a right and straightforward course, and he will not speak falsehood for gain.

We also remember that the truth shall make you free. Lies bring bondage and will surely bring consequences, but the truth, though it may cost us at first, sets the conscience free and honors God who hates lying lips. Pray then that the eyes of the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, may be opened to see this, that they may fear God rather than man, and submit to His will, and choose the honest path even when it is costly. It is always well to know the truth of God so certainly that we remember it when we most need it, for this truth takes from us the fear of man and strengthens our faith to trust God in the storm.

Bear in mind also that God Himself is the great Landlord and we are but tenants in His house. This present life is not our own, and the lease holds a clause that the Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to call us to account. Our rent is obedience and gratitude, and our duty is to set our house in order. To set our house in order is to put away all falsehood and to offer the key of our house to Him, acknowledging that we live on sufferance as His tenants. Those who deal dishonestly forget that they dwell in God's house and must answer to Him.

We thank God that in your hardships He has given you grace to show patience and kindness, even as patience and kindness were shown to you. Continue in this, for it is decision for Christ and His truth that has power. The war between right and wrong must be continued and never cease until truth has the victory. Be valiant for God and for His truth, not with a lethargy that nullifies truth, but with a steady love for the banner of truth which so many faithful ones have borne before us.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You. We thank You for Your presence, for Your heavenly gifts, and for the sacrifice of the Cross where Jesus shed His blood for sinners. Lord, You desire truth in the inward parts, and You have shown us that lies are hateful in Your sight. We ask that You would work in the hearts of all involved in this matter, the landlord's team and those who represent them, that You would build in them a hatred for falsehood and a love for honesty. Open their eyes to know that Your Word is truth and that the truth shall make them free, and keep them from suffering the bitter fruit of lying. Help them and help us to buy the truth at any price and to walk in practical truth before You. Give to Your people grace to continue in patience and kindness, to set their house in order, and to pay their rent of obedience to You, the great Landlord of all. Strengthen faith where there is fear, and grant submission to Your perfect will. We dedicate our lives to You and surrender our will to Yours. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.
