Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing this honest and weighty prayer before the Lord. It is right to take dishonesty seriously, and it is good that you have come to the Father in the name of Jesus, who said of Himself that He is the way, the truth and the life. Your thankfulness for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the blood shed on the cross is the right foundation, because it is only through Jesus that we have forgiveness and access to God.
Scripture is clear that God desires truth in the inward parts. We cannot hide our hearts from Him. He knows the whole truth about each of us, and as long as we try to cover or excuse what is false, we make no progress with Him. His word calls us to renounce hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness or handling His truth deceitfully, but commending the truth openly before God and before the conscience of others. That plain, obvious truth is what He wants to dwell in us, for His truth lives in us and will be with us forever.
Jesus also taught that the truth will make you free. Lies may seem to offer an advantage for a moment, but they bind people and bring consequences. Those who follow lying vanities forsake their own mercy, and Scripture warns that lying lips which speak proudly against the righteous will be put to silence. The enemy works by blinding minds and distorting truth, holding people with deception. That is why prayer is so needed, to ask God to bind that blinding work and to open eyes to see what is true.
Your prayer for the landlord's team, the lawyers and the legal representatives reflects the grace you have received. You have chosen to show patience and kindness even through hardship, and that is pleasing to God. We are not called to please people by flattering them or by ignoring what is false, but to please God by speaking and living the truth in love, even when truth is not well received and even when it upsets those who hear it. The Spirit Himself bears witness because the Spirit is truth, and He agrees with the water and the blood in testifying to what is true in Christ. Pray that the Spirit would bear witness to their hearts.
So we join you in asking the Lord to build in them a holy resistance to dishonesty and a love for honesty, that He would open their eyes to see that truth brings freedom while lying brings judgment, and that they would turn from deception to walk in truth. We also pray that you would continue to walk in truth yourself, for there is no greater joy than to know that God's children are walking in truth, and that grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ would guard you in truth and love.
Father, we thank You for Your truth and for the forgiveness offered through the blood of Jesus. You see all that has happened and You know every heart involved. We ask You to work in the landlord's team and all who represent them, to remove deception, to give a hatred for lies and a love for what is honest, and to bring them to repentance and faith in Christ. Protect these who have prayed from bitterness, keep them in patience and kindness, and let Your truth set all who will receive it free. We surrender our wills to Yours and trust You to act justly and mercifully. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
